The Kings kick off their defense of the Vegas Summer League Championship Crown with a Keegan vs. Paolo matchup.

Mark Jones and Doris Burke are on the call so this is pretty much the most national attention the Kings are going to get all year.

While you wait for the game to start, watch this video of the summer league team going bowling (Keegan apparently bowls right handed despite being left-handed).

I think it's attributed to his feet. He's probably right footed. It's easier to plant with your weak leg and then swing with your dominant leg in all sports.

Not that unusual. My two year old, we still don't know if he's left or right handed. And don't know which foot he prefers. Leans right in somethings and leans left in others. Probably will end up like Keegan or Fox (who is right handed, if I recall correctly). Wiring is weird.

Hoping we get to see Keegan vs. Banchero without anyone getting held out or injured. Should be a good test defensively for Keegan and mentally as well. Jabari Smith looked like he was too wrapped up in his head about the matchup.

Spoiler alert- regardless of outcome or how anyone does, a large segment of this chat will be devoted to lamenting our guy’s ceiling and lamenting that we didn’t take every other first round, second round, and Undrafted guy in the last three years. Just about everyone else in the game will show more star potential than our guy. Any really good play by anyone else will be evidence of star ceiling. Any bad play by our guy will be evidence that he wasn’t the right pick. End spoiler.

And if our guy does well, it's because he did the #bareminimum, because it's SL, and he's supposed to show out.

How about, maybe we just enjoy this one? It's summer league - it should be developmental, and on the bright side, there will be coaching continuity. I doubt we're scheming to shut anyone down anyway. I'd expect more of that kind of planning in the regular season.

Big thing I want to see is a bounce back game from Queta. Had a reasonable first 2 games, was really really bad in that 3rd one. Get him back on track.
The Kings gave him the green light to try things, but I’d wish he focused on the things that will allow him to stick in the league. Blocks, boards, moving the ball. The processing speed especially.

Screw all that garbage, there's a ring at stake here! This is win or else, haha

It’s not ideal that Murray’s been rendered absolutely invisible the very first time he plays a legitimate NBA talent.
