Trade Deadline Thread

Taj Gibson also is just happy to not only still be in the league but also to be getting paid more than the league minimum. (Seriously, the dude’s getting paid 5 million dollars to take minutes from Obi and Mitchell Robinson and Nerlens Noel)
It feels like he's been around for the past fifteen years at least.

On the other hand, Dejounte is the perfect example of why you don’t just randomly give up on a young guy too early. Dude wasn’t even the second best guard on the Spurs until this season.
Years 5 and 6 into their careers is not too early. Although I think they'll both likely see ten + years in the league, the odds say they're both likely past the halfway point of their careers.

and to think, someone name not mentioned, had not one but three opportunities to draft him… my pick all along that year
The sad thing is, Vlade was very average. Top 5 picks are supposed to be about a 50% hit rate, which is what he got with Fox and Bagley. An above average, possible once in a while all star. But when factoring in Bagley over Luka...yea, he sucked.

that’s debatable. Spurs organization >Kings Org and coach Pop > Gentry and those aren’t debatable.
Sure. Let's assume the Kings FO will continue to suck. Makes trading for a multi-year all star even more of a pressing matter. Finished product = No need to worry about the FO messing up the players development. No?

Id keep bagley before trading for jordan I mean grant dude couldn’t be bothered to play 3rd when begging Jokic and Murray smg
The only way I stomach Grant is if they trade Fox. Two black holes in the starting lineup is just going to continue this style of selfish, sh*tty Kings ball.

Bulking up is a bad thing?

We have no idea how much he worked on his 3-ball, or not. All we can say is that whatever work he's done hasn't paid off.
No, we can say his off-season "training" program sucked. And it's a mystery exactly what that training program consisted of.

It can be. Nash slimmed down significantly after a few yrs in the league. What’s more troubling is bulking up likely meant Fox saw the path to the next level as scoring more inside. Just smh.
