man I just went to the Rams game yesterday. LA fans are so hollywood, fake. They hype up everybody
There are a few diehard LA sports fans (maybe not for the Rams who only recently returned after a long absence) but it's hard to know who they are with the mass of fans who show up to share in the winning and then disappear as soon as the winning stops. A lot of people come to LA from other places though (myself included) so the idea of any LA team being the "home team" for the whole city/county is somewhat tenuous. The successful LA franchises know what the deal is and they spend accordingly. And there is a kind of honesty in needing to earn your fans every season instead of simply coasting on a geographical brand.

...sigh

Well, another 30 point trucking to add to the pile to show just how far away we are from being a playoff team. So tilting that apparently the only people who can't see it are running/owning the team.

Who knows. Kings have 5 games until the deadline vs BKN, Warriors, Minny twice and OKC. Very likely 1-4 stretch with a few blow-outs thrown in. Is that enough to get this FO off their dumb path?
Remember when you told me we can't trade for Simmons and sit him to tank cos we wouldnt catch the likes of OKC and Houston?

It could work though and that remaining unit is pretty much what you need these days to match up. Grant isn't a perfect true 3/4 and Fox/Haliburton is still a skinny, smallish combo backcourt but this would be the best thing they'd had probably since Bonzi/Ron Ron. Even in a worst case those guys will have trade value in the end as long as they don't do what they usually do and sign Turner to a long term deal than allow someone to sneak up behind him and into his role on a 1 year MLE deal then re-sign that depth to big money.
Getting Grant and Turner would make this a playoff team in that two year window. They’ll exit in the first round and it’ll cost 5 years of the future. The smart thing to do is to tank this year and get a shot at drafting an elite talent. Not shoot for the treadmill.

well also the long time Rams fans had the Rams leave them for St Louis. Rams were my team but then they left and I stopped caring.

fully agree. and to listen to Kayte swoon over him is nauseating at times. she has a crush on him or something.
Agree. I think Kate has said Holmes is the perfect center for this Kings team like 100 times this year. Just sigh. Sometimes I wish Matt Barnes was in that color role, because Kayte, Mark, and Kyle go out of their way to not criticize the players/strategy/concepts. Jerry was great at criticizing without being mean.
