Both Giles and Bagley need to be in Zbo’s back pocket and learn how he uses his body and space in the paint to score. Neither one has that part of the game...Bagley is trying to just out jump or go fast trying to score in the paint. Stuff that’s worked at Duke won’t work here on a consistent basis. They just need to go to school with Zbo.....hurry up and slow down.
Only one problem with that. Neither Giles nor Bagley have the bulk that ZBo has.

I don't think his defence will be a concern. He looked to me that he purposely stopped trying to stay in front of anyone driving game one to hand them off to Bagley so he could run out on a break and get an open dunk. That's just a kid trying to get a couple of highlights and get noticed the way Bagley did with his dunk on Wagner.

He switched well on the high pick and roll throughout the two games and had a great high double team at half court with Fox in game one that would have got he a fast break dunk but Fox fouled. He needs to stick the perimeter bigs a little closer as he's quick enough not to get beat on the first step and tall enough to contest without leaving the ground.

He's a talker and a leader which is great. You could see his frustration with the bench players awful offence, spacing and defence which shows he cares and wants to win no matter if is an important game or not. He ran up and down the floor at the start of game 2 and didn't get the ball much at all. The offence went to the other side of the floor, someone took a bad shot or he screened and popped and didn't get the ball off it often. he was unlucky as he'd get open on a good post up and the ball would go the other way.

This is what happened to Jackson in game one, they don't get the ball for awhile and when they do they force something. Game two they ran some sets for Jackson and got him some looks and he went for 20, Hopefully, this is the case for Giles game 3 and he can do the same.
ink they ran him more as a PF offensively than at C and I think that's where he should be in this roster.

The more sets are run the better Giles will look. He seems intelligent but in that 'do what the coach has asked' mindset, which is taking him out of the play while the rest of the summer league are playing freelance for their own stats.

KG scored a lot of points with a similar frame and when Giles and Bagley figure out they aren't going to back down NBA bigs on the block and decide to turn and face, use their speed and athleticism to create space and play balanced instead of off one leg hooks they'll both make huge steps forward in their production.

He's more will than skill type player from the little film we seen prior. He's a C fellas.
Yeah this is what surprised me I kept hearing he was Chris Webber who to me was athletic skill player, rather than a effort guy, I like his effort but I got to see more he's just meh to me at the moment he was getting more hype on here than Mike Malone did during that one brief successful run before he got fired. Atm he looks more like a taller Quincy Acy than Webber.

Here's the thing though.. players don't often say that a guy has skills if said guy doesn't. They easily call other players athletic, full of potential etc. Nobody called Thomas Robinson the next CWebb, or McLemore the next Kobe. Even WCS whose passing is pretty decent has never really been called a skilled player to my recollection.. instead they say he runs like no other big, has the ability to guard multiple positions etc.

That's.....that's the sweetest thing I've seen in awhile lol WE LOVE YOU TOO HARRY!!

No joke you guys, my 5 year old keeps talking about the drunk guy in front of us at the game Monday night.

“He said “I am so ******* happy about Harry Giles man!” How did I know he was drunk?! He had 1/4 of a pretzel stuck to his cheek...

Harry will thus always have a special place in our hearts...but good call cwebb, and thank you for posting that tweet SLAB, that’s epic.

And you didn't take a picture? Dude... :p

I'm trying very hard (and failing) not to get too excited about Harry Giles.

The way he carries himself and his demeanor just screams Kevin Garnett to me.

Hehe well he's intense but is probably a wee bit more grounded than KG...

KYP = Know Your Personnel (for those that dunno)

They are all well aware that Derrick Jones is not the dude u wanna test in a jumping contest and if he gets off the ground first it's over with.

Zbo is a totally different player than either Bags or Giles. They can learn some things from him, but he is a very different type of player from either one of them.

How many times did Giles get an offensive rebound on a missed FT? I think I counted thrice, and got put backs each time. That was amazing.

I feel we are just scratching the surface with him. Given his long layoff, lack of development for not playing real ball over the last almost 3 years, and the inevitable doubts that creep in as you go through the rehab process, I was expecting more rust. He needs to develop lot of aspects of his game, but I think he is a potential stud.

We need to remember that Giles went from playing no ball in more than a year to three games in four days so it’s no wonder his shot looked flat and he wasn’t playing too far above the rim (the team also had no fast break opportunities so there were no chances for the breakaway highlight play).

All in all, he’s playing better than I expected on defense (as in he actively effects play after play on that end with his presence alone) and about how I hoped he would on offense. Also, for all the talk about summer league having a bunch of scrubs fighting for a slot, Bam, Bell, and Jones are all probably NBA rotation guys and Harry didn’t look overmatched against them at all.

Was in a loss but Giles is looking like a star.

31 min, 17 pts(8-16, 1-2 3p) , 6 rbs, 5 stl, 1 blk

TRUST THE VLADECESS!
I didn't get to see the whole game but Harry looked really good from what I saw. The announcers were hyping the Ayton vs Bagley match-up, but Giles showed that he more than belonged in that same conversation. That running hook is money.

Sure, but ZBO is an absolute master at using his body for positioning, angles, and patience to score. He has negative athleticism, but still manages to be an average offensive player. I'd gladly take his offensive knowledge in 2 bodies that can jump 40 " off the ground

His offensive knowledge in a superb athlete's body is Peak Chris Webber.

He flashed some impressive stuff tonite, The running hook shot in the lane, the turn around J in the post, the three.
Would love to see him attack the rim some more.

He rushes and gets a bit wild at times on O, but I'm sure that'll improve when he really finds his rhythm and with more experience and a better PG.

Absolutely love his defense, the swats, deflections, pokes, strips, hard fouls, bodying people, denying entry into the post and stare downs. All impressive. Hes very alert at all times and probably the best defender on the Kings already.

I'm gonna go relax with the vino after hearing that for the rest of the night.

Makes me smile.

Go get them Harry.
Extremely fluid for a 6-11 player the way he runs and can dribble and pivot. Going to be an absolute monster on pick and roll defense, polished nice looking jump shot. Motor and desire to play defense is there with an intensity every play.

The Kid Part II
Wow... you guys are much more optimistic than I thought...

In true Kings fan fashion, it'll probably take me half a season of sample size before I will truly be convinced that we got a good thing on our hands.
