DRAFT PICK discussion thread

If The Kings really viewed Porter as a #1 pick it is organizational mal practice to not do anything possible to make a trade for him at this point.
No it was malpractice to consider him at #1 in the first place. The fraud dropped like a rock just like I knew he would. Not only did he fail his physical, he failed his interview with his arrogance and delusions of grandeur.

There was a lot of good educated posts about the value of players like Bagley. Go look and if you cant find them tell me and I can point them out to you
I refuted most of them but you just disagree is all... Which is fine, but there's two sides to every argument. Steve Nash with Amare in 2009 was 54-28. Steve Nash without Amare in 2010 was 40-42. That's just one example with one player... There are plenty of run and gun power forwards that have been on a lot of good teams.

The mavs certainly didn’t mind taking the ball out of the hands of the point guard they drafted last year...... What a disaster this franchise is.

More than one ball handler doesn’t hurt. You can’t commit to a ball dominator when you’re a losing team. Luka will likely be a better playmaker

That might have weighed in somewhat but I'm still not buying it. They wanted Bagley, they took Bagley. It's looking like Vlade loves his bigs. Look at his previous drafts.

This. We took the best player who is also a great fit. This team is gonna be really fun with the ability to beat you in a lot of ways offensively. Defense is going to be the issue but we should be able to score with anyone.
I'm not - yet - worried about Bagley's D. He's athletic and he puts in crazy effort, so I suspect he will be fine.

Or is it just you disagreeing? 04-05 Suns won 62 games and got to conference finals, 05-06 without Amare they won 54 games and got to conference finals, 06-07 they won 61 games and got to conference semi finals.

There has been a crazy plateau in talent (at least in my mind) after #14. You could throw a random number generator on #15-#24 and not notice. That might last for another 10 picks, too.

Fire him, fire the staff. It’s been just awful drafting and then there is no pick next year because we needed to free up cap space for a rental. Just horrible upper management
