I would not want to be a Kings player heading into this game. At least those who take the court can take some solace in the fact they won't have to move before the end of the season.

No idea what will happen in G1C. No idea what I want to happen in G1C. At this moment, I'm not even sure I'll be watching. The Kings fan in me wants to support the guys in the jerseys, even from up here, but the part of me that still thinks there's room for integrity in sports isn't on board.

But the game will go on, and there will be people watching and cheering for the Kings. Knowing me as well as I do, I'll probably be among them although a part of my heart will be in New Orleans.

I'll be watching.

I'll be watching the Pels' score closer than this game though. Still hopething something / ANYTHING else gets done before the deadline, because the current roster makes zero sense.

(Prediction: Nothing happens. Enjoy a roster where Darren Collison is the best player. But they're gonna try hard and not yell at refs, so it's all good)

This thread isn't about the Pelicans pick. It's about the Kings game. There might not be much participation, but I'd like to hope those who do participate aren't actively rooting against the Kings.

I stopped caring about wins when they traded that guy who was really good at getting us wins. I'm much more interested in watching the young guys get reps and us getting the lotto pick from the Pelicans this season.

Remember the other angle:

Wanting the Kings to beat the Nuggets to make it more likely that Demarcus and the Pelicans make the 8th seed.

The only reason I'm watching or listening to Kings games or news this year is to witness the way this plays out, and watch for clues that helps explain what happened.

I've been watching since Pete Chilcutt was draining long jumpers. Why stop now?

Always good to see Coach Malone, an eye to the dysfunctional past that somehow magically reappeared...or rather never left. I'm not sure what to root for in this game, but that Jokic kid has been ballin lately.

Maybe Vivek will grab the mic and sing a karoke duet with Buddy to break the ice.

Admittedly, I was pro tank pre Cousins trade, so you know how much I expect this top ten pick now. Doesn't mean I'll not be rooting for every single one of our young players to show out. Might be something ironic about the team playing better now and making an 8 seed run

Here is the thing, I think immediately after trades, teams seem to come out firing with that chip on the shoulder, trying to prove people wrong so I would not be surprised if in fact Kings beat Denver. But that stuff wears off and eventually things fall back to their norm.

Right now, this is arguably THE worst roster in the NBA.

My guess for tomorrow is that the Kings suffer an acute case of PTSD (Post-Trade-Sans-Demarcus),
and either get blown out in a jaw-dropping manner, not even fighting hard to avoid it,
or they start the game ball-out-of-the-cannon style, to prove a desparate point.

(Still, I predicted a close L in the prediction thread, believing it will even-out on the course of the game).

BTW, do you think Malone has a special incentive tomorrow night? Has he promised Boogie he will try to avenge him or something? o_O
