Ailene Poison claims Rudy asked to be moved

#3
I think the problem is that there's few teams that want Rudy, or else he would've been traded by now. I see Rudy going to a playoff team needing a sixth-man/fringe starter that can create shots or a really bad team who needs a scorer. However, there's few trade scenarios that really work for both teams.

Hopefully, he gets traded and we net out some needs (PG, 3andD SF) and/or future draft picks. He's officially a value now, but with his deficiencies (ball stopping, lax defense, inefficient scoring habits, lack of passing ability) very few teams need him nor want him.

All evidence is that Vlade is a very patient operator. We also have specific needs in a trade. Won't be for picks, won't be for bigs. Probably a PG. So you begin to get a fairly short list.

@SeanCunningham: While he may be part of Kings trade talks, have heard from multiple people who say there has been no trade request made by Rudy Gay

This was just tweeted out immediately after that Voison retweet. Just to balance things out and quite frankly Voison is a POS

Carmichael Dave Retweeted SactownBabyGiraffe

He's wanted out for a while

SactownBabyGiraffe @TimMaxwell22
@carmichaeldave maybe you can provide clarity - did Rudy just recently request a trade or was Voison just repeating old news?
So which one is it?

Why is it ok for teams to try trade players, but not ok when a player asks to be traded?

I don't doubt Ailene's sources, because just logically...things haven't been going great on the Kings front. I can understand a 30yearold player at his peak wanting out from a team that isn't winning.

any report that comes out and states that he isn't looking to get out is kidding themselves IMO...body language is telling enough, also considering the fact that he's had two head coaches since his short stint here, can't blame the guy. Trade him if makes the team better, don't trade him for a player that isn't going to make the team better or worse.

Atlanta: Sefolosha & '17 1st for Gay
Adds another 3 and D wing, cap space to go after a PG, and a '17 1st to keep adding youth

Boston: A. Johnson & Rozier for Gay & Koufos
Adds a great PF (that could even push Cauley-Stein to the bench), a young/cheap PG, & more cap space to work with

Cleveland: Shumpert & '17 1st for Gay & Koufos
Adds another 3 and D wing on a cheap, cap space to go after a PG, long term deal as well as a '17st to keep adding youth

New Orleans: T. Evans for Gay
Helps with the guard depth and gives us a little more cap space to work with

Oklahoma City: Roberson & Payne for Gay
Adds a defensive wing, a young/cheap PG, and more cap space

None of them are really home runs, but I doubt we're getting a guy like Bledsoe as I don't think Gay's value is as high as some of you think it is.

A couple of thoughts:

1. Social media is not AV's friend. Her lack of ability to get breaking news or timely information is pretty obvious.
2. Rudy Gay signed his contract with us with the logical assumption (silly Rudy) that Malone would remain coach. I think all things considered Rudy has every reason to be receptive to a trade. He didn't bargain for any of the crap.
3. Having said that, I don't think Rudy asked for a trade as much as he may have indicated he's not opposed to a trade. And again, I don't blame him.

And her tweets are typically typo-ridden and hard to read. Sad for a "journalist" - I don't think she proofs them at all before posting them.

AV or not however, probably right in this case.
Sean Cunningham has a lot more credibility ... and people actually talk to him. I'd tend to believe his information above AV's. I suspect she's still using GK as one of her sources.

To clarify here: Rudy Gay has not officially asked for a trade, but he wants out. Kings know it. If he is still on roster in Sept., beware.

Basically she tweeted oops
So really she took a poetic license on the situation, got called out for it so she is wiggling her way out of it now!

Pathetic! But then again its nothing unexpected from her.

Beware of what? Rudy looking like he's only minimally interested while putting up 16-20 points a night with few other stats, not many smiles, and maybe not appearing to have his whole heart in the game?

Personally (since no one has EVER seen that from Rudy) I'm terrified of the thought, so thanks AV.

Beware of what? we've seen him check out mentally in games, it's nothing new here. Question now remains, what teams want to deal with him? I'm sure as soon as he is traded, he will be all smiles and he will try again and lose weight to play the 3, etc etc etc.
