Free Agency

No, the blindness is automatically thinking that anyone we bring in for SG is going to be better than Ben. We've been going through this scenario for 3 years and some people haven't figured out a couple of simple facts. 1. Ben is a pretty average SG when you look at his numbers. 2. Anyone we try to get in free agency that will actually come here is going to be an average player with flaws. So excuse me if I don't buy into this "Anyone but Ben" silliness. The team reduced his minutes, took him out of the starting lineup, brought in a vet sharp shooter to spell him and teach him the ropes, used a gritty tough player in Anderson for defense, and yet, the team results were the same.

I'm ok with the Afflalo signing, but I have no illusions that we've been saved somehow. I also don't expect Afflalo to get better with age.
Ben is not nor never was a legislate starter. Couldn't dribble, couldn't pass, couldn't be relied n to get a shot, therefore was not doing the basic job of asG, leaving us with a f our man team on offense. Any legitimate starting SG would be a huge shot in the arm for our offense. I can't agree with your views n the McLemore impact.

That sounds truly horrible. It's amazing he ever got drafted and saw the court over the last 3 years.

And Kevin Durant has be looking at this potential destination spot, and say "damn" if I join up with the Celts we are better than Cavs.
If they got Durant and Horford, they would be the icing on the cake for them. IT and Bradley are a good back court, and the other slot could go to Crowder. That's a line up that can score and play defense. They've got a good young rotation as well. Add some veterans. And the Celtics are back. To be honest they're going to be a contender in the east without Durant, but he'd be wise to consider them if he wants out of OKC and the western conference.

As long as LeBron James plays in the E.C. that team is the contender. Boston are pretenders still with this move, lots of nice pieces but no star(s) to put them over the hump when crunch time comes (playoffs).
No star like LeBron, but the addition of Horford makes them better and a threat. Granted if the Cavs play next year like they did this year they'll get to another finals, but all it takes is the Celtics to play defense and knock down their opportunities offensively, and perhaps they could upset the Cavs. I doubt it. But considering how quick they've rebuilt, it's commendable they are as far along as they are right now.

The Celtics rarely have a long rebuild, they do it on the fly while bringing in assets and lots of draft picks. Ainge is a top notch GM.

Not a terrible deal all things considered.
Similar money per year that we gave Afflalo, but were only on the hook for one year. Obviously Vlade knows Bogdonvic is coming over next year and the cap takes another huge jump upwards. Next years freeagent market is much better than this years. I like his moves so far. Not greatly impactful, but nothing stupid either. No leaks as well.

OKC supporting cast > Boston supporting cast IMO
I think I agree with you that Durant would have more talent around him in OKC than BOS, but BOS supporting cast with Durant is better than LeBron's supporting cast. I don't have confidence in Love in that system. And Smart and Bradley could give Kyrie fits. If Durant goes to BOS, I consider them favorites in the East. Better coaching. Better defense too.

I judge him on his body of work thus far, which is to say his unimpressive body of work. However, not once have I ever said I don't want him to succeed. Why wouldn't I want him to succeed? His success would mean our success. I always hope for the best, but he's had so many chances we can't afford losing games because of him any longer.

Who knows, maybe AA can teach him a thing or two.
You're right, no Kings Fan has ever rooted against an active Kings player. How could I have possibly made that mistake?

Looking at the list of free agents next year, it is not that much better.

Sure there are top FA like Westbrook and Curry but are we really a chance for any of those? I highly doubt it.

The rest is either players who are not great fits or are oft injured. Hayward would be great but I suspect he would stay with Utah on a 5 year deal especially if they make the play offs
