Hall of Famer
If we don't go after Rondo, then we are going to go after a lower tier vet like a Cole, Chalmers, etc. Collison will start, signed vet will back up or Curry is the back up with Cousins the 3rd PG.

I keep seeing that we may go back to the Princeton offense under Joerger....I don't know if that is tru or not but if true, Rondo doesn't really fit that ball movement offense. The backcourt of Bibby and Christie never had high assist totals. Bibby was a shooter. Christie was as much a PG as Bibby. Maybe the plan is Collison and Curry at PG and Waiters is a capable passer....not sure he's so willing a passer.

Please can we sign free agents and be good... please!! :)

Its amazing how for so long we all wanted Rondo to sign for us, he was the man. Now nobody wants him back. Funny how sport works!
You are just generalizing.

Not everyone really wanted Rondo to come here in the first place. I also don't think nobody wants him back. I want him back. I think plenty of people would like to have him back for the right price. It's not like there are really a lot of better options out there at PG. Better options that are willing to come here.

Of course im generalising. It was a light hearted comment.

I'm hoping with the Kings being so quiet, it's Ken catanella is doing his capology job to keep the Kings uncheck for the future. Dmc is going to get a max contract and we can't be handcuffing ourselves with overpaying mediocre players.

If we spend big on Waiters any hope I have for next season will pretty much evaporate.
The question you would have to ask is, and this is true too with the Lakers and Mosgov, WHO are you competing (bidding) against? Even if the Kings offered like 2 years / 20 million to Waiters, who else is willing to pay that??? The Thunder just added Oladipo to play SG and are allegedly poised to resign Durant AND Horford. They are not giving Waiters over $10 million per season. Then his reputation around the league is pretty much as immature guy who overrates his skills (putting himself on par with LeBron and Kyrie when he was in CLE) and takes terrible shots, so the number of teams willing to bid significantly on his services becomes minimal at best. This is why the tweet by Jason Jones comes across as a totally stupid, or the Kings are totally stupid, one or the other.

One sourced described Waiters as "locked in" on Sacramento. He's restricted so OKC could match so expect any offer sheet to be big

Big, of course, is relative in NBA money. I could see Waiters getting $18 million a year.

If this happens, Vlade has destroyed any good vibes he may have brought to Sac
Please for the love of god. I will just. I don't even know. I might have to give up if this is happening.

No way. After seeing how much players are getting paid now, I would NOT give up Ben to get a RFA in Delly. Delly isn't a starting PG and he has 0 game around the rim. He cannot attack the basket if his life depended on it. He gets to the FT line at at ABYSMAL rate. In 24.6mins per game last year, he shot 0.9FTs a game. That means that he wasn't even getting to the line at all...

I think I'd rather overpay Seth before we decide to S&T Ben for Delly.

You have to be a little worried when reports like these come out, but the $18mil makes me believe this is total BS. That's around what Bazemore is going to be getting. There is no way any team in there right mind would pay that much for Waiters.

Usually I always try to understand the reasons for every move, but I can't really find one for Waiters. He's literally the last one I want to see in a Kings uniform. Please Vlade don't do that.

That's why I'd lose faith/hope in Vlade & co. It's a terrible signing that wouldn't help the Kings. It's a such a bad move that I'd question their roster biking acumen completely and take back the pass I was giving them on the draft.

I'd rather have McLemore over Waiters even if both cost $4M. But Waiters at $14M or more? Ridiculous.

What gives me some hope is that it was worded as Waiters being locked in on Sacramento and not the other way around.

We'll see
