Vlade talking with Grant about our draft selections

I am at home this week and have been listening to a lot of radio. It is crazy how much they mock us and Divac :(. Just this morning some hosts were making fun of Divac on one of the XM stations like he is a dummy for taking Papagiannis, a second round talent, that high. It was almost Ric-Bucheresque.

I know we deserve some of it but still ... I hope Vlade will show all this stuff to George and he will use it as a chip on his shoulder. If it drives me mad, I am sure it will motivate Papagiannis. I do not know much about him but I trust Vlade that he scouted the guy and he was not a panic pick.
I always want our players, especially the young ones, to do good but I will definitely be pulling for George this upcoming season.
The Bucks have received little to no criticism for taking Thon Maker, who could actually be much older than thought at 10, even then most had him late first round at best. Kings are an easy target, mostly deserved but at this point I am numb to it. When we get better and show stability its stops.

I was watching the Vertical Live feed during the draft, and the majority of them were fine with the pick. Thought it might be a bit high, but had also heard rumors that he might not be there when they picked next.

Do not know if this interview was posted before:

Beside usual, Divac specifically mentions need to improvement at 1,2 AND 3.
When asked about DMC draft tweet, he stated that after the explanation DMC was fine (which implies he really was not fine before that :))
Interesting that divac is publicly saying we need to improve at small forward. Considering we have Rudy and Casspi there that's not a position I'd expect him to address publicly like that. Not that we all don't believe the Kings might like to move on from Rudy... Just that he's an established veteran player and the second best player on the team. Strange to call him out publicly.... Wonder if that was a slip?

The media is retarded in general.... None more so than national sports media. It's too much to understand every team in depth yet they speak like they do.

That's how it appeared he said 1 and 2 with confidence then he said 3. After he said three he paused a little as if he didn't mean to. I guess the cat was already out of the bag because we tried to move gay to indiana a few days prior.

They are no more accurate than the Average Joe.

Let's revisit the disasterous 2012 draft. What did the media give the Kings for picking Thomas Robinson? Wow, an A+!!

And just for chuckle, let's see what the media gave Detroit for picking Drummond....
If I could give you 2 or more likes, I would. By the way, has anybody looked how many minutes Bender played last season? He went #4!

Every pick at 13 is a project pick. On average half the 1st round picks are out of the league by the time their rookie contracts are up. Let's at least wait until summer league and seeing the kid play before we decide what he will or won't be in the NBA.

If the Kings sign Ryan Anderson as many seem to think they will, they'll still have $17 million in cap room and Gay, Koufos and McLemore as trade bait. Crabbe, Lee, Rondo, Seth Curry, Solomon Hill, Matt Barnes, and a few others are legitimate free agent targets.

I'm just willing to see what the rookies look like in SL and what Vlade & co do this offseason before getting too upset. After all the losing seasons I guess I'd rather be optimistic until I have a reason not to be. It's too disappointing/stressful otherwise.
I absolutely agree with you. As a matter of fact, I'm happy about the draft and I think Vlade did a great job. Can't these guys see that Vlade came back from the draft with 4 players of which, in my opinion, at least 3 will become significant NBA players. My only headache concerning the coming season is Collison and what's going to happen with him. I was looking at the ESPN Kings depth chart and noticed that they have Willie and Omri at the PF and Rudy, Caron and Duje at the SF. I still believe that Omri will play more SF than PF minutes. Now, if Papagiannnis (he is 18 years old!) will be the 3rd center, Skal the 3rd PF and Malachi Richardson the 2nd SG (behind BenMc and waiting for Bogdanovich) we only need two PGs to be ready to Rock and Roll. Hence, my major concern is the PG situation especially because of the Collison issues. In my opinion this is a great team with a lot of talent. This team has four 7-footers (+ the "tiny" DeMarcus at 6'11'') and time to develop the newcomers! Probably the tallest team in the NBA and very promising.
