Good move for us getting a late first round pick. If we keep #8 and #22, we should be able to get two players to help us, or we could pair them to move up which would equally help us. I can't wait to see what we'll do! :D

Depending if we take any Hornet in return, we will be clearing his $6 million+ contract off the books. The #22 pick will earn about $1.1 million, so that's roughly $4.9 million in new cap space if we haven't taken anyone on in the deal.

If don't draft a guard with #8, then at #22 we have all seen the likes of Valentine, Beasley, D Murray, Korkmaz and co be drafted around that spot. Adding a young talent with upside could be a good move for us over a player who didn't do much for us last season. Plus, their contract is a bargain under the new salary cap, and the cap space create should help us in free agency.

Don't the Kings already have a ton of money in cap space with the rising salary cap?

The thing is that Belinelli has more proven history than anyone who will be drafted at #22. Do we just ignore what he's done previously in his career and simply say he's not a good fit?

Yes. He was horrible last year in all phases of the game. Then he basically blamed it on teammates after the season.

Wow. This is a bit of a surprise. If someone had posted a hypothetical trade suggesting Marco for the #22, would you have believed it possible? I surely wouldn't have. I know we're not talking about a lottery selection here, but still ....

I think this trade also sends a clear message to the team, we WANT players that play DEFENSE!!!

Otherwise, you don't fit with what Vlade and Coach Joeger want.

Better watch out Rondo, you are probably next out the door! o_O
