You really think it was a mistake by Vlade? What do you think should he happened?
As I said, perhaps a fine.

That itself would have been damaging, but there is a real issue here is Karl is a walking dead coach. He probably should have been fired a month again. Certainly will be a month from now. And there is extreme sensitivity amongst media and fans to any signs of Cousins' malfeasance. And extreme sensitivity in Cousins/a persecution complex. One of your jobs with Vlade is to calm those waters, and there is no need for an exaggerated response to protect the authority of a coach who a) has already lost the team, and b) is soon to be fired. The long term interest is Cousins and his stature.

people sense. Its been missing amongst the Kings for a long time. Vlade naturally has it. But he's not perfect. Here he may just be too solid/reasonable a person to understand the hate storm always whirling around the Sacramento valley. In a vaccum, its fine. But any move like this with Cousins gets amplified 100x until its not fine and damage is done. You ahve to try to calm the storm, not feed it.

Here's what gets to me. Everyone on this team started out the year enthusiastic and ready to win. I can understand why other people would want these players gone. But I don't think they're all quitters. I think the horrible coaching combined with management backing the coach not the players combined with the local media (not to mention the play-by-play guy) dumping on the players at every opportunity has got us to where we are now. The majority of the fans seem to be buying the "blame the players" storyline as well. If I were a player, I wouldn't want to be there either. I'd be counting the days until my contract expired and I could move a thousand miles away from this situation.

No one on the kings is even fake hustling.

Good call hiring Karl. Just great.

Kings are probably his first team ever to just completely quit on Karl. But they tried harder under Ty Corbin.

Zombie Kings out there tonight.

Exponentially worse with each passing day, Kings fans. The Pete D/George Karl era managed to absorb an entire season https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkJqKOb0ZhY…

I have never been embarrassed to be a Kings fan. Today, though, Chuck Yeager is at Sleep Train. That embarrasses me, for the simple fact that man did so much while wearing the uniform of the US armed forces for virtually pennies. He's watching a bunch of spoiled millionaires who can't even pretend to give a crap.

The entire team needs to walk over to Gen. Yeager and do two things:

1. Thank him for his service.
2. Beg his forgiveness for having him show up for such a pathetic performance.

I just quit following Voisin on Twitter (again), right after I saw her hard-hitting in-depth commentary about the baby race during one of the timeouts.

I keep hoping this is all a bad dream and I'll wake up. But I've been asleep apparently since February 2005, so...

Kayte saying George Karl was nervous about the Kings defending the guard play of the Jazz? Hrm. How strange. You think perhaps he should have maybe, oh I don't know, FOCUSED on defense during practice?

Bah humbug.

She looks at this mess and thinks Karl in the FO is the solution.

Of course she's focusing on the baby race. She's divorced from reality.

Don't be absurd; if they focused on defense in practice, somebody might actually try to play some.

He might have also worried out loud about his coaching but then that's taking personal responsibility. Why do that when you can throw the entire team under the bus?

Well...the good thing apparently for the players is that Karl is such a players coach that we aren't out of it yet. Amirite! Inspire them George!

Maybe somebody should tell George Karl that man-to-man defense with a full-sized lineup is an option most coaches consider in those situations.
