AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
That would require them to actually REPORT WHAT THEY ARE PRIVILEGED TO HEAR, and to inform the public of the truth of things.
But that is not they're job anymore (I don't know if it ever was for "reporters").
There is not one person involved with the Kings that would actually tell the truth, if it isn't what their employers want them to. In other words, they are basically puppets of the Kings, only acting on their behalf to perpetuate the narrative the front office wants published.
And yes, this includes Carmichael Dave, and he's admitted as much that he feels he's fallen on the sword of truth enough already, and won't endanger his job by revealing info.
Ok. I've tried. You're a straight up wacko. I don't know what else to tell you.
I won't speak for anyone else in the media. But if you want to keep wearing your tinfoil hat and believing that garbage, I'd remind you I've already been fired once for "speaking my mind". Which I continue to do. I don't know what else to say.
I'll try one more time, for funsies, and I'll go slow, and yes I'm being purposely snarky and smarmy because I can't stand stupid-
I hear stuff. I can't always share it all. Why? Cause I won't hear stuff ever again. I share what I can. Sometimes I share more than I should. You're confusing "falling on the sword of truth" or whatever Game of Thrones crap you threw out with "not burning confidences" or my favorite
"pushing the agenda. "
So in your world, (and again I respect everyone else in the media too much to speak for them), in YOUR world there's some sort of undercurrent marching orders from the franchise. We get the email, have the convo, or pick up the carrier pigeon- and just go forth with our agendas?
Christ man, get a grip. Life is too short. I know the Internet is weird and I'm one of those weirdos, but no one tells me to say or not say jack sheet. The day that happens I'm gone and will become a farmer or something.
Last time- you're horribly confusing not blabbing every single thing that comes across one's desk with some sort of agenda theory, and it's not only wrong, it's pretty damned funny.
The media are not some insider illuminati. I would bet the average income on this board is well higher than your average Kings media member. Relevant only to illustrate that the only difference between media and fan is a bit of access. It's nothing else. Nothing.
Hell, as much as we've gone rounds together and I think he's an overbearing dingledong sometimes (love you Brick) but I'd take Bricklayer (and several other members of his board's knowledge over many of the people that cover the team.
That's not a swipe at anyone, I'm just trying in many many different ways possible to eliminate this imagined divide that SOME (not all) believe exist between "common fan" and media member. Most people don't want or won't say that. But as a fan first and media guy second, I've made that journey. And several others here locally have as well, in there own way.
So if you think there's some sort of mass conspiracy to not speak truth to power (which usually people think when THEIR opinion is not the narrative spoken or general consensus, therefore everyone else is a coward), I strongly suggest you find a media outlet, get a job, get a credential, get access, and then come back shortly after and read this thread. Then you will most certainly repeatedly punch yourself in the face for being a goddamned weirdo about all of this.
Flame on, I'm sure there will be some awesomely constructed and piecemeal quoted response at length, but it doesn't change the fact that you're wrong, at least where I'm concerned. Please be sure to use internet argument terms like "straw man" and "just saying" for extra effect.
God bless all of you and our Sacramento Kings.
