Let's Make the Playoffs! & The State of the Opposition

Dallas's playoff really spot is still in play. They're playing above their talent level right now and there age is going to catch up with them as we get deeper into the season.

Honestly, not worried about Denver, NOH, PHX or Minny anymore. PHX is in a giant free-fall that's only going to get worse and the Nuggets and Wolves just aren't good enough teams to consistently challenge the better teams. Pelicans have taken a giant step-back under Gentry and they're just getting to the point now where they need so many wins to even get back in the conversation.

Utah though is going to start playing much better ball again as they get Gobert and Favors back in the rotation. So it still won't be easy getting in, but I think things are starting to stabilize where there aren't 7 teams in play for the playoff spots.

Bring the defensive effort and ball movement from the first half of the LAkers game every night and we will reach the PO.
Somehow aquire a solid defensive wing and we may even look at the 7th or 6th spot.

Even though we likely have an automatic L tonight against the Warriors, the Jazz are taking on the Heat who have been pretty good this season. Since the Heat-Jazz game starts at 6:00 pm PT and our game starts at 7:00 pm PT, a Jazz loss means we are tied for 8th for at least an hour. :p

@Bricklayer - how far off are the Kings from your .500 prediction/pace you had going?
Well. The late December nonsense knocked them back. The Lakers game was supposed to the .500 game.

From that point on as I recall we were only going to gain about 1 more game above .500 through the end of Jan. Maybe 2.. Hadn't looked further, although I know that Late Feb./early March is brutal, but if we can survive it mid-March onward is relative cake.

Suffice it to say we had a much better day today than yesterday. Only HOU in the HOU/MEM pick'em got the win, Dallas is old and may have gotten tired out by an OT with more tough games directly ahead, and the Pels lost a close one in L.A., so they can come in here nice and unrested without the Brow.

Just on us now to finally execute a few wins we need and should have.

Dallas will probably rest Dirk and a couple of other players against OKC, they normally do it on a back to back in particular against a OKC squad
