Kings free agency, part 3

I would bet the next signing will be Josh Smith. And I'm perfectly fine with that. If we have to be this kind of team, then go all-in for it. Anyways, next season will be fun. We could be the greatest surprise of the NBA if everything clicks, or we could just burn down in flames and completely destroy this franchise.

Per league source, #Spurs have withdrawn qualifying offer to @Cory_Joe making him unrestricted FA

Cory Joseph would have been a much better pickup for the Kings, presuming again that RR wasn’t added to make Rudy/DeMarcus happy.
Even if you were able to sign Joseph for 4 mill / yr, it doesn't make him better than RR. Get Rondo out of the strict offense of Carlisle and put him in a Karl offense.....should see an uptick in production. Joseph has been and will continue to be a solid bench guy. Rondo is more than that.

Since when did Corey Joseph become a proven commodity? The Spurs don't exactly have a history of allowing really good players to walk. In the end, Joseph may or may not pan out to be a good player, but, at this point, he would be a greater gamble than Rondo. Stauskas was just unloaded for a more proven player. Signing Rondo over someone like Joseph is the same thing.

Don't make the mistake of blaming Carlisle for Rondo's horrible production. He was horrible well before Dallas and actively quit on the Mavericks.

I much rather would have ran a DC-Joseph rotation than a Rondo-DC rotation. But hey, no use crying over spilled milk and all that.

Stein just tweeted that we're closing on Casspi for $6M for 2 years, which would more likely close the door for Josh Smith.

So probably down to 1 last big. It could be Bhullar if Vivek wants to keep the Indian market on their feet.
Or it could Raduljica if Vlade want to put some Serbian tough guy to pounce someone who doesn't listen. LOL

So here's what I think we'll end up with:

PG - Rondo/DC/Ray/Stockton
SG - Ben/Marco/Anderson
SF - Rudy/Omri
PF - DMC/Moreland
C - Kosta/WCS/ (Bhullar/Raduljica)

The cons: No championship repeat in Summer league? Coz no legit scorer. Nik has been moved. LOL

The pros:
- 4 PG ready for Karls up tempo offense
- Offense and Defense will be consistent from starters to bench.... for the first time in like over a decade!!!!
- We could really surprise the league if we get our acts together.

Or how about we just sign Cisco for a retirement sort of pickup. He could really keep this core in check.
Remember when we had Bonzi and Arterst together? Cisco was there as the peace maker. LOL

There is no need for another big man. If you're willing to bring in another big like Bhullar or Raduljica...your better off just rolling the dice with Moreland because he is young and athletic and besides...he won't play much anyway.

Color me curious as to why you have so much faith in Joseph? What has he shown during his time in the league that would have you believing he'd be a better fit?

I get the argument that Rondo may never be close to what he once was. I guess we'll find out soon if that is true. But Joseph hasn't shown anything to this point to make anybody believe he has any more of a future. The Spurs have been among the best in the league at finding diamonds in the rough for quite some time now - what do you see that they didn't?

Bhullar is marketing machine especially now that the NBA is clearly trying to break the Indian Sports market.
Raduljica on the other hand is more of a big body insurance. And beard guy that every tough team needs. LOL

In short, 3 mins a game for the any of the final big addition. Normally we go in with 14 players.
