So we offered Monta 48 while Wes is in town? Doesnt look good, just looks like we are throwing stuff at a wall and hoping one or two of them stick. You pretty much have to sign Wes now....
That's actually a really good point that I don't think a lot of us have considered. Many players don't want to come here as it is let alone if they have to play with Cousins and now a good chance with Rondo as well, not a good selling point.
I don't know why we think Rondo will be on his best behavior here anyway. He got to play for a playoff team in the Mavericks which by all indications is a good group of guys and going into a contract year and he couldn't even get along with them for half a season. How can he possibly be on good behavior here?

No, I think our offer to Ellis was made yesterday.
People are really stretching to find reasons to be negative IMHO. I'm just very glad we're not sitting on our hands waiting for the phone to ring. Vlade is out there working his posterior off. I'm very glad he's doing it and I'm not going to second-guess him at this point.

With Monta Ellis going to the Pacers, expect the Kings to zero in on Wes Matthews with all of the cap room they just created.

My guess is that its going to take around 17 million over 4 years for Wes to sign with us. He wants 15 and might already have an understanding with Dallas for a figure close to that.
Big big risk but after last nights trade you do it and move forward.

I've been hoping that we use part of the space on one of the FA bigs available (Koufos, Ed Davis, Jordan Hill, Seraphin, etc) but seeing as Aron Baynes just got 3 years and $20 mil those guys may get close to $10 mil a year.

Should add that Mavs are optimistic that Wesley Matthews will wait at least a couple of days. He wants to be here with Jordan/Parsons.
I do find it ironic that we have to give up all our future assets to eliminate previous bad contracts. Now were going to use said CAP space on another outrageous overpay.

How did we give up "all our future assets"? We got rid of deadweight PFs and Stauskas. The 2018 pick is protected and then Sixers can swap spots on 2 others....why are you all saying asset? Lol so confused. It's one pick and its protected. We should be planning to make the playoffs every year and in that case Sixers will be picking 15th and later.
