Ongoing draft/lottery discussion [OPEN SPOILERS]

Not serious about the 99%, but a while ago, you were convinced we'd trade the pick for Lawson. Not anything personal against you lol. Draft day is always up in the air, and we have no clue what THIS front office thinks..who knew we were even interested in Stauskas last year? So many combinations of ways we can go.
Lets see, Gay was major minutes/scoring at the 3 and 4 slot, played well on Team USA, is a team player and excellent #2 scoring next to Cuz and we want to trade him for something less?
Collison was one of the best starting PG's since Bibby, excellent ball handler and distributor and very quick in transition, shoots all shots and can create and we want to trade him for something less?
ESPN and NBA proved that the Kings basic starting 5 (Collison, Ben, Rudy, JT and Cuz) were one of the 3 or 4 best starting 5 combos for scoring and rebounding. JT is a starter on mediocre team and backup on next years Kings as he can play both 5 and 4. So can Willy too!
So in reading the last 3-4 pages here I'm confused about what to do but this is the time of year to be completely confused from too many lies and fibs (from the media) and really poor teams dreaming (Lakers, Celts, etc) and smoking stuff.
Lets see what Vlade is made of tomorrow then see what Coach George puts together in Summer League to help fill in the role players that are needed. Yeah, I know. Summer league is rookies and undrafted types (just like Moskov) but we will see the new Moreland and Nik and Ben and David to see their progress. There will be some trades within the somewhat small Cap space the Kings have and that will be an indicator of "the next step".

That would be a lol at Mr. Lowe. He can't create for himself, but that's it, and everyone is free to find any obvious pass, that he missed. Handles are good even for PF. Yes, he can't use it in traffic, but most NBA bigs can't as well. If you look at his passing, WCS is certainly not a creative one, but you can try to find one pass to perimeter guy, that didn't came at chest level, so that his teammates could instantly shoot it. Lowe make him sound like very athletic Kendrick Perkins, i.e. Deandre Jordan.
These are two games from early in the season, when teams still haven't figured out, that they can just shut the middle, box out and let Kentucky shoot. In that Texas game Kentucky were 0-11 from 3 at some point.
These games also show, what WCS can do with relatively good spacing.
vs Kansas:
at 6:50 - catching and second jump look ok
at 26:30 - hey, he can even find cutters out of the post

at 25:58 - yeah, he can't handle the ball
at 34:42 - Holmes had to push WCS to keep him off the glass
at 38:35 - certainly it will be hard to find him on lobs, many balls will just go over him

Holy hell, Barcelona is petty. Hezonja was all set to fly out for the NBA draft after his team was swept in the playoffs. But then, the Barcelona GM just happened scheduled a practice tomorrow.. which requires Hezonja to remain in Spain. What type of crap is that?? They're purposely not letting him attend the NBA draft.
Those kinds of actions will likely deter other youngsters with NBA aspirations from joining their club... pretty stupid on their part.
Sadly, two of the best Bosnian talents are playing for Barcelona (not the A team, one is loaned out to a different team right now and the other plays for the junior)... hopefully they aren't stuck in a similar situation in the future.

I don't think, it will deter anyone. Barcelona is one of the few places in Europe, you can still get paid very well, plus they have their own academy - there are not many similar opportunities for young players in Europe.

My short list for the draft....for our pick at 6 and assuming that the 2 bigs and Russell are gone
1. Mudiay....immediately upgrades our bench at both 1 and 2 and is our PG of the future
2. This is where I constantly change..the WCS injury risk scares me. If healthy he's my pick, if there are concerns then I thinkim down with Winslow now
3. WCS or Winslow
4. Hezonga
I'm good with Sac trading down, only if they get a good vet piece and if Mudiay is off the board. I'm also ok with Sac taking Hezonga but only if other trades are lined up to deal Nik.
I don't want them to take Frank Kaminsky at 6. I don't want to trade down to take a Kaminsky if the only vet we get is a guy like Chalmers. Nice player but Sac should go with the guy who could potentially be a star at 6....since we have trouble signing star players.
Saw on twitter that Houston is shopping Terrence Jones and 18 to move up. If they have us another piece, I'd look into that one right there.

If we take Kaminsky at 6, I'll be more than a little upset.....Sac falling for the "he comes NBA ready" line of thinking. Would not have learned their lesson from Stauskas. Take your future PG in Mudiay who plays a premium position. Or we can regret not taking him and it becomes like when we passed on Lillard and Elfrid.
Yeah, I've come down off WCS after the injury risk information came out. If we take him, we should trade down to do it. Same with Kaminsky. Neither of them is a good sixth pick.

I'm much more enthused about Porzingis today than I was a month ago. He might fizzle, but, if he doesn't he is a great fit next to Cousins long-term and a very different look to bring off the bench initially. If I have to choose between Porzingis and Mudiay, I think I go with the seven footer.

At this point Houston's good PF depth is elusive. Smith might leave, if Rockets dance with Aldridge for too long, Motie has degenerative disk and need back surgery or rehab (likely paying the price for bulking up too much, buyers of Porzingis beware) and Jones is constantly injured. I know, it sounds crazy, but at this point I might just prefer Smith among them due to lack of injury concerns.
