One AND ONLY Cousins trade rumors thread

9) PDA hired by Denver, Woj delivers column on the move straight from the rodent's mouth
10) All of a sudden story breaks about Karl trying to force out Cousins, story is by Woj
11) Cuz respons with snake in a grass emojii

Now where do you think #10 would come from given all the above?

My strong strong bet is this is Pete, feeding information to Woj, about a real event that already happened with the Kings while Pete was here. Its something Pete had intimate knowledge of. It was something Cousins already knew. Something CarmichaelDave etc. may have had hints of behind the scenes. And something Valde and Vivek have known about and been dealing with for months.

Now the positive of that is that this crap would not be new news to Cousins, would not be new news to Vlade or Vivek. And yet Vlade/Vivek have continued to insist that Cousins is not going to be traded. The storm may have already been weathered internally with the big question being whether Boogie feels any desire to forgive and forget.

All that has to happen to support this, the one easy simple thing.. is for Coach Karl to come out and say something - the right thing. I'm not sure what that thing is - but he had better say something, standing side by side with Vlade and Vivek and Bratz... and make it stick.

Does anyone really think he would pee away that kind of cred over a Sacramento Kings rumor?

WOJ is being fed by PDA. There's no question about it. There's definitely some credence to the rumors. My thoughts are these aren't NEW developments at all. Cousins has wanted out for some time now, even before PDA was fired.

I think a lot of people are reading this as a new development. To be honest, we don't really now how Cousins feels RIGHT NOW, since PDA has been fired. Has Vlade alleviated his concerns? Has Vivek? Has Karl reached out to him? We don't know. All of these developments are leaks by PDA who is no longer in the loop.

That being said, there's no way that Cousins will ever trust Karl after basically trying to have him ousted without even playing a full season with him. Add that to the fact that the Kings have been awful for quite some time, and it's no wonder Cousins wants out. I'd want out too. He's going to play for a coach that does not want him there, even if he says he does. Play for an organization that fired the coach that he wanted to be there. And worst of all, play for an organization that did not have his back. Sure, they have his back NOW. But Karl is still here, right? PDA wasn't even FIRED. He left. What is drawing Cousins to stay here? I'd bail first chance I got.

This may deserve it's own thread (but it might also just be a bogus rumor, since Kings rumors are getting hits right now), but it may also be indicative of a post Cousins rebuild fire sale type of move....

At this point.... We might as well go for having the worst off-season ever, just to make it easier to not be a fan anymore.

I actually kind of like the fact that we have heard no official statement from the Kings. I'd like to think that they are gathered in a very serious conference room right now, saying "Exactly what happened? Who did this?" and trying to determine the best course of action. Hopefully they are telling George Karl, if he is the source of this, that he can either issue a statement that the rumors are untrue, or he can sign this piece of paper, collect his belongings and get the hell out of the building.

If Karl is not the source of this, they need to call DMC on the phone and tell him to ignore it all, because it's all media bull****.

Normally I would, but I don't trust Woj's Kings sources much. It was Woj who tweeted the "1st & goal" quote, it was also Woj who recently wrote that Vivek forced PDA to fire Malone. I really don't like Aaron Bruski, but he seems to be much more accurate when it comes to reporting what is going on with the Kings. My guess is his sources are much closer to the actual decision makers in Sac than Woj's.

I understand your point about Woj and his credibility, but would Karl risk ending his coaching career like this? This story could end his career.

Now this just makes no sense. First, Rondo's value is shot to the point Kings cap space will be more than enough, and Kings can always S&T for him. I'm sure Dallas strapped for personnel would take JT to boost their big man depth. Plus Rondo is very far from Karl's PG. (don't want Rondo anywhere near this team regardless)
Sounds like those reports, that Vlade likes Hezonja, basically since they are both from Europe. Say, Kings need shooting or dunks, find some good reason other than availability and proximity.

P.S. Woj is a very credible reporter. He is also known for occasionally making hit articles, so given his PDA story he doesn't have 100% reliability on the issue.

So I read somewhere that we can't pick up the Lakers #2 until after they've selected. Maybe the Kings brass will just try to sit tight and buy time until then. This will be the least boring draft day in my memory as a Kings fan.

Even if the Kings came out and said something no one would believe them, kinda pointless at this point.

I'm sure Vivek will say something though he can't help himself.

I am 100% taking my loyal fandom wherever Boogie goes (unless it's LA) if this really happens.

I've been dealing with this franchise since i was old enough to know what basketball was and god damnit enough is enough

Partly disagree. This is not a situation where you can essentially tell Karl to behave himself, then just hope this works out this summer and going into next season. You've got to fire him. He's either openly campaigning against Vlade/Vivek to trade our franchise player and/or Cuz already did in fact ask for a trade a month ago which ties into both the Malone firing and the Karl hiring and hiring Karl was essentially the straw which broke the camel's back.

You have to cut the cord now. There is no hoping Karl/Cuz magically work this out. Don't fire him and this'll be here all summer, it'll ramp up in training camp, be an enormous distraction and we're just delaying Cuz being even more forceful in demanding a trade while blowing up yet another season and possibly a helluva lot longer.

It really doesn't even matter at this point if Karl leaked this or not. And after the past two seasons there's not a single good reason in having the most dysfunctional franchise in pro sports carry such a risk.
