i like the fact we are exploring options regarding a partner for cousins however my reservations about Kaminsky revolve around the fact that under Karl we are looking to play at a faster pace and his noted shortcomings are the fact he isnt much of an athlete. The offensive game is there and he and boogie would do very well in a half court set however that is not how we plan to play.

Drafting Kaminski would be that same mistake of passing on talent in order to draft someone we HOPE is NBA ready. At least with WCS, you can argue both best talent and ready to play. I'm not sold on Kaminski as a lottery pick.

You take Kaminsky is you trade down to the teens....but I'd much rather have the higher upside potential stars at 6. THAT is the way to go.

I could see the Kings trading down and drafting Kaminsky... Ideal scenario would be picking up a quality veteran and Kaminsky. Don't forget that Kaminsky held his own against Okafor and Karl Anthony Towns in the NCAA tournament. We need more talent and experience

I think we take WCS even if his sickle cell limits him to 25mpg. We would still have JT there making our front court very good. Matthews says he wants 15mill per which I think means he goes to the highest bidder we can offer him 14mill if we draft WCS and waive landry.

My goodness Vivek. You put Karl and Vlade in place. Time to sit back and watch. They don't need your "agitation."
chief irritant at it again. he seen how his beloved dubs just won a title and will tell karl to emulate the success.

steve kerr said in an interview that it was the defensive foundation (cough, malone) that helped set the team up for success.

It would be nice to have Mudiay and Hezonja available when our pick comes up simply because I think the pick becomes much more valuable, it seems like a lot of teams are looking to move up. I think there is a lot of value in the middle of the first round or at least pick up a veteran as well as a pick.

Everything I have seen out of WCS makes me want him the most. I don't think his ceiling is as high, but his floor is definitely higher than most. He's a defensive presence, a rim protector, and is agile enough to switch onto smaller guys.

My hopes for this draft are still Mudiay or Cauley-Stein.

WCS fills a very obvious need. I can't pretend that the chatter about his health (foot, sickle cell trait) don't concern me, but he would provide rim protection/shotblocking, a big who can get out in transition, a huge weapon against the pick and roll and I think a guy who (in time) will be able to knock down 15-18 footers consistently enough to keep his man from doubling Boogie in the block.

Mudiay is still a hugely intriguing piece because ideally I'd like to see someone supplant Rudy as the 2nd best player on the team. Of the guys that could be available I think he has the highest potential to do that, though obviously he'd back up Collison for most if not all of next season. But if he is the real deal then eventually it moves DC to a super sub role with the added ability (because of Mudiay's size) to play them together as Karl has shown interest in doing. Plus Mudiay's game (while currently limited by his poor mechanics and unreliable jump shot) is pretty much ideal for a dribble drive offense just like Wall, Bledsoe and Tyreke under Calipari.

I can't see WCS falling to 11. But if we picked up Super Mario that would be interesting. The guy is full of swagger and attitude. We need a pest, but that guy may just need a left hook to the mouth too. Would be interesting.

I don't think it's a surprise to see Cauley-Stein dropping this much, he may not be as ready for the league as once originally thought. Several concerns about his care for the game, body size, and potential medical issues all contribute.

At this point it is a major reach at #6, one I don't think we can make. I like the potential of Hezonja and Mudiay a lot, but like usual, we are back on potential again.

Interesting point.

If they pick Mudiay and Hezonja, I'm on board; if they pick, WCS, not so much. If there's any time to swing for the fences, it's in the draft. They can swing for singles and doubles in FA and in trades.

PS I have lot less of a read on Mudiay than Hezonja. Hopefully, our scouts will have seen Mudiay in high school, not just his limited experience in China. FWIW, Larry Brown recruited Mudiay and was extremely high on the guy.

According STR, Hezonja's mentor is Peja..

In a recent podcast, Jonathan Giovny of DraftExpress briefly mentioned that Hezonja is 6'9.

Anyone else seeing this parallel??

Hezonja=Peja

Let's draft him.
