2nd team All-NBA for DMC!

Good news! It's a start. If we have a good season next year this will switch to first team. Unfortunately for Cuz, wins do count quite a bit. We have to fix that ASAP time is ticking.

Well-deserved. Regardless of your feelings about Gasol, his team won and that has always played a major factor in individual awards.
It has, which is kind of silly in latter days when you can actually track individual impact.

As an aside, Boogie was the only player from a losing team to make any of the All NBA teams. Even so he got the least overall votes on the Second Team, and if the voters this year had not really ****ed around with the Forward and Center designations (calling a bunch of guys Forward/Centers to squeeze in faves like Duncan etc., who knows how far the stupidity would have gone).

Indeed. 2nd team is perfectly fine. No issues with Gasol over him. Now Jordan, Duncan, or BG over him? Then there would have been something to complain about.

On the other hand, Boogie got the most 1st team votes out of any of the 2nd team players.

awesome! congratulations, demarcus!

i think it's really important that DMC continues to earn these honors while the kings are still mired in irrelevancy. i think being shut out of such individual awards last season was damaging to his sense of what he could accomplish in sacramento, and another round of disappointments this season could have started him on the path towards a legitimate trade demand. now he's a first-time all-star and he's got a 2nd team all-nba under his belt. he's in the club. he's crested that hump...

from here, its on ownership/management/coaching to lift up a quality team around big cuz. he deserves a chance to shine without the "...on a losing team" asterisk that hovers over his accomplishments, and kings fans certainly deserve a chance to root for a winning team without the rug being pulled out from under us, as it was at the end of 2014...

Well deserved! 1st team awaits him next year if the team can get back to respectability. In fact there are going to be mumblings of MVP talk if we make it to the playoffs, and deservedly so.

Yes, which tells me annoyingly that he was left off a lot of ballots, which is 100% a team record thing. I already mocked Zach Lowe for that when he made his Gasol-Duncan-Al ****ing Horford picks public a couple of weeks ago after he submitted them. A HOF center is putting up HOF numbers right under his nose, and the dude is so lost he can't see it.

Waiting here to see the voter by voter breakdown which nba.com will release after the official announcement is made. Be interesting to see who the numbnuts are. Going to punish their various emails again as I did last year. Morons.

How Tim Duncan still makes these NBA teams is beyond me....besides that, I think he is one of the few players in the league without a social media account. That's HOF stuff right there in itself.

For all his pimping of Cuz, Bill Simmons left him off entirely.

As did Broussard, Dave McMenamin who had freakin Horford as a 1st teamer, Dorris Burke(shame on you, Dorris), Isola, Howard Beck, Adande, Arnovitz, Calabro, Whitaker, Marc Stein, Fratello and Zack Lowe, as a few names people likely are familiar with.

Frankly, ESPN has a large number of dumbasses in their ranks.

Notice how many ESPN people are on that list. They remain a solid self-reinforcing rock of Boogie ignorance. I tire of engaging them but it must be done.,

In general the morons are far more established/big name then are the people who got it right. Boogie still has a problem with the national media Establishment.

That's exactly what I was going to say -
How the hell does Jason Jones have a vote?
That guy hasn't proved he knows anything about the NBA for YEARS!
Isn't there ANY, like, requirements of skill/knowledge to this thing? Don't you have to take a test or something? Prove you know more than a below-average fan?

OTOH - I am pleasantly surprised Boogie got voted to any team at all!
I thought he was going to be historically screwed like last year - really, the same justifications to ignore him last year are there this year, too.
When the voting ignores on-court statistics, anything can be justified.
