Cousins Cryptic Tweet

#3
I hate tweets.. there's always cliff hangers..

Next season is playoffs. We just have to continue to build on what we have here. Regain Cousins' trust. Whoever decided to fire Malone then a few months before hiring Karl should be fired. Is that Pete? Mullin? Vivek? Other owners? Who? It sure didn't come from a bright person..

I wish Cousins could see all the love and support the fans have for him.

I can imagine his situation though. You're a legit all star player playing for a weak team with absolutely 0 stability since the day you stepped foot in the gym. He's playing at such a high level giving his all, just to let everyone around him fall. Cousins doesn't deserve this, but I believe this upcoming season will be where we reach the playoffs

My speculation on this? I say a trade is coming.. or someone is getting fired in the FO.

It can't be a trade. How could 2 teams come close to terms before May probably a firing.

Maybe FO asked him to sit out the last 3 games so they can tank for a better draft pick.Possible, he may be ready to play, but FO asked him to sit and rest.Just my guess.
This seems a likely interpretation.

1) asked to pretend to be hurt so they can tank; or
2) got word of imminent front office firing; or
3) informed that the assistant coaches won't be retained as Karl brings in his own staff

But then again, as the OP noted, its a 4 word and one acronymn tweet. That's as cryptic as can be. For all we know he might have been changing his baby's diaper at the time.

That's what I was thinking. Big Cuz thinks with his heart - thus raw emotions guide his actions more than cold hard calculations. His heart and mind probably told him I'm ready to play these few final games but instead has to deal with "dirty business."

My best hope is that PDA is going to get fired, but that doesn't make sense as PDA has been the one doing the shady stuff all along.

How about he read Voison's piece, thinks the team is playing fast and loose with some facts to help out the owner as they swap in Vlade for Mullin and PDA, leave PDA publicly twisting in the wind, and most of the incompetent brain trust come back.

I think they've really moved the goal posts on the Karl hire. So per the paper at different times, other key Kings owners, Vlade and for a while PDA all were calling on Vivek to hire Karl, but Vivek refused and watched Corbin set moural and money on fire for weeks without a logical or good reason??? So why isn't Viveck our biggest problem?

Many teams fake injuries late in every year.

Our team just publicly said to the writer in thier pocket, we still haven't decided if we are going to keep our GM but we hope he will consider a demotion. That you don't see every day. I dislike PDA, but that is dirty business

How they did Malone, Corbin and now PDA. This organization lacks class.

This is quite strange this late in the season and relatively concerning. There might be a big change ahead or, as mentioned above, he was asked to sit the rest of the season.

Perhaps he's just reacting to his and Rudy's early season end...
Since Injury Report says they were both "ruled out for the rest of the season" (3 games), he might feel that there's no proper "closure", especially with the fans.

Boogie is a guy who is loyal. So it could be any number of things as a growing number of possibly decent people have been humiliated the past couple years by this organization.

The current victim, believe it or not, is PDA. Now, I've stated I'm somewhat enjoying PDA's public demotion or pre firing announcement or whatever the hell is going on, but this is as dirty as it gets.

I've never seen anything like it.

Vivek runs his successful business like this? Hard to believe. And this is hardly the first instance of hiring a replacement while the first guy is still there. Let's not forget the attempt to hire Gentry with the plan to replace Malone eventually.

The number of dirty things this franchise has done under Vivek is large. The public courting of Karl while we had a coach, for example.

Now, Napear is on the radio talking about how a minimum of 6 guys will be replaced. That's half the team. After over 80% turnover since last season.

I fear strongly Vivek is the source of all the problems. And a terrible owner is hard to overcome. Keeps making the same mistakes. No one working for the Kings, especially the players, has any reason to trust anyone running this organization.

Nor do the fans.

I just want to know that there is a plan. I don't even care what it is at this point. Seems like the FO is just running in every direction. It's frustrating for fans but the players gotta live in it all day long.

Maybe they told Evans he isn't coming back.
That would be terrible. The two players I'd for sure keep on the kings roster are Rudy and Reggie. Both seem to have a strong and good relationship with Cuz. We shouldn't burn any more bridges with him. Ben is his close buddy, but I'd hope he'd understand if trading Ben meant more talent or winning for his team.

Bring back Evans on the min

I love Evans' heart and hustle and toughness, but it is truly comical when he finds himself with the ball in his hands. Deer in the headlights, still after all these years.

I like him though.

Maybe he was watching the Clippers play Memphis? In one sequence Matt Barnes elbowed Gasol in the face and got a regular foul. 10 seconds later Randolph pokes Barnes in the eye. I thought I was watching the Three Stooges for a moment. Man did Barnes whine when he was hit back. Guess Zach believes in an eye for an eye:p

As for all the doom and gloom I don't get it. I mean I do, 28 wins. But Hey! We got Cousins, Rudy, Collison, Karl and Vlade. Mullin is gone and Pete appears to be destined for the role he would be best at, "Capoligist". I suspect the new guy will be "Talent evaluator". next up will be getting Studs to start at SG and PF.

Yes, as whether or not moving on from PDA/Mullin and bringing in Vlade is right and works out for us, the way in which Vivek is going about it is classless. I don't think that's lost on Cuz who has supported PDA publicly before. Cuz very well might agree with replacing PDA and fixing the toxic culture within our FO but once again it's another member of our FO/organization being thrown under the bus publicly while leaks continue to surface.

It's quite ridiculous watching Vivek run this show. Whatever happened to formulating your plan behind the scenes, keep s*** in-house, when the time comes, fire PDA and thank him for his time here, then name the replacement when you've come to an agreement on terms? There was no problem in hiring Vlade, where the problem lies is then leaking the various FO shakeups which may or may not happen, during the season. The photo-ops don't help, where it was constantly Vivek/PDA/Mullin, then quickly became Vivek/Vlade while the other two pretty much disappeared. That's putting the marketing of Vlade above respect for your fellow colleagues, whether or not you're ultimately going to replace them or not.

A well run and classy organization or business for that matter, deals behind closed doors and then announces its decisions publicly when the time is right. What we do is leak out the thought process along the way which only creates turmoil, especially when that thought process is ever-changing and has moving parts. It lends itself to creating the toxic culture we're witnessing. There's little class or honor in it and it comes across as Vivek running this ship like he's suffering from ADHD, just skipping from one plan to the next and tossing people aside as soon as he's decided he's done with them. This goes for players too who have constantly been put into very public rumors during this regime's tenure. Vivek sets and creates this culture, in business this is a reflection of the leader, the CEO, the president, the top dog. And for a guy like Cuz who is a very loyal guy, I highly doubt he's all that pleased at the serious lack of loyalty regularly presented from our organization.

I can't remember another organization which leaked and thought out loud to the public like this. Comes across as not only making it up as you do but announcing to the world that you're making it up as you go.

But as Vivek's assistant would say, #chillmuch.

Wait a minute, wasn't it Cousins that was supposedly asking to be rested a few weeks ago?

If it's Pete getting the crunch I don't think it's entirely necessary if he's just a part of the team in the FO at this point but can anyone say they have ever seen bigger bungles out of a front office than this one? I mean jeez.
