Rome is the Rush Limbaugh of Sports Talk Radio. Huge audience because he appeals to such base values and does so unapologetically. If you can shamelessly appeal to the bottom (culture wise) 20% of the market, they'll treat like a god and love you forever.

That's why "artists" like Katy Perry and other "pop stars" like her are so popular. The music is so simple to create and it's just the same lyrics over and over. It appeals to the people that don't know real instrumental music (i.e. children and the bottom 20% of adults).

The bottom 20% of adults is more like 80% of overall adults in number based on what I see most days.

IIRC, Grant has teased BIG MONUMENTALLY INTERESTING THINGS coming soon, and nothing happened.
So I wouldn't hold your collective breath too long....

(But these are some seriously amusing alternative-exciting news releases y'all keep coming up with)

It's gonna be something duuuuuummb!

Gosh, this is like Christmas. You know that big box is just going to be an ugly sweater, but you still get impatient waiting to open it.

Maybe the news is that they're FINALLY recalling Sim from the D-league.

Not sure Malone would be the coach to fully develop Wiggins. Wiggins is already a very special defensive player.
They are one of the worst defensive teams and we know what malone could do about that. Also malone has been on a road trip with them already and had a 2nd meeting with there owner in early February.

Here it is, right on Hoopshype:

Eric Pincus: In addition to Andre Miller, the Washington Wizards will send $839k to the Sacramento Kings in the Ramon Sessions swap @BBallInsiders Twitter @EricPincus - See more at: http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#sthash.DMzamvu2.dpuf
On that note, let's do more trades with the Wizards!

Back on topic, agree it's either 1.) Monarchs 2.) MLS 3.) Sports Radio Hype BS. Probably #3.

Remember when Grant all but said an Andre Kirilenko signing was imminent?

Hmmmm... Maybe?

Never mind...

2/24/15
And finally Kirilenko himself said about his return: “I am glad to be back to my favorite team, where I played in the beginning of my careeer, then in the middle of it. It’s great that I got this chance and I was happy to use it. I understand that the time has come to think about quitting as a pro player and in my opinion it is better to do it in my dear club’s uniform”. Carmichael Dave backed up that an announcement that will make Kings fans very happy is coming soon too
Hmmm a few days now then.

Unless I missed a big story.

I've got no clue unless it is the All Star game.

I think we would of heard something if it was the Monarchs by now or they would have said it differently.

This is quite a long tease.

I already forget, what's supposed to happen?
I hardly even listen when Napear goes in that breathless, inciting tone of voice, urging the audience to listen close - I've been one of the guys who will bring up Napear's good points through the years, but he has a terrible track record (in my memory) whenever he does that kind of thing.

I don;t get why he does it, either - I assume his listener base is fairly unchangeable, and out of his control to influence - they tune in more when there's more interesting local team activity, and they tune out when the teams suck.
He doesn't really have to tease reveals - he has the entire franchise beat down his door to do interviews, he doesn't have to work hard to get his position - he's top of the local stack and has whatever access he wants (when he hasn't personally burned those bridges himself).

ANY tease that is more than one day is useless, in media. WAY too fast of news cycle to bother teasing that far out - and if he wasn't in charge of the release date of the info and has to wait for someone else to announce it, then he is being quite unprofessional in opening his mouth before they have given him a solid date.

I rather enjoy the Napier rants, he is good combined with Jerry too, but that is seldom on the radio.

I think he needs to break the game down more, talk about contracts, talk about what he is privileged to see and we are not, and take less callers.

His quietness with some of the Maloofary in the past has always annoyed me, but I understand, but if that is the case don't take the calls from selective fans take them all or none related to the subject.
