Do you think the National Media tonight is going to be talking about how bad the Kings were and are?

Klay could have done this to any number of bad teams. Unfortunately tonight it had to be the Kings but nobody is going to care about the Kings part of the equation from a national perspective.
Except for the national writers who are already talking about it.

I mean, he scored 37 in the quarter and none of them were really forced. Like he passed a few times and I was like no don't pass

Why didn't Kings put him on the line with maybe one tiny hard foul?
Why you asking me? The coach seemed to be as mesmerized by the performance as anybody else. Nothing stopping any of the players from fouling him but then again the BB IQ's on this team are not exactly high.

The fact that they didn't foul him doesn't erase the performance though. He still had to make all the shots. He still made several of the shots with a hand in his face from deep and even fading away.

It seems that the theory of us playing up/down to our competition has officially been busted. We might go down as the biggest disgrace of a franchise for ruining a HOF talent's best years due to our FO incompetence.

Ray is hogging the ball right now...why the hell do we have sessions ans McCallum on the floor at the same time?
It's because we don't have better players. Ray would be lucky to play in practice on most teams. The kid is NOT a PG in any sense besides height. Selfish, turnover prone, and not even a very good defender. Not to mention I can shoot better than he can.

Klay made the Kings look like JV players and they let him. He would have made 30 ft shots with his left hand blindfolded, but don't just stand there and take it.

Let's say you foul him hard and then he still makes the next 3 anyways.......what do you do then?

You guys assume he's a pansy and can't take a foul but he's actually a pretty gritty player and one of the very best wing defenders in the NBA. I can't just assume that a hard foul is going to send him sulking. Maybe it does but maybe it doesn't.

I guess the Kings should have fouled him once just to see what happens but like I said and like Grant just said sometimes you just gotta tip your hat. He still made all the shots and some of them very tough shots. If it was easy we would not be talking about it being the best performance in a quarter in history.

They just should change the site name to klaythompsonfans.com. No one even cared how embarrassing that was. But hey lets continue to drool over how Klay Thompson just humiliated the Kings tonight. Yay!!!
Final warning. Stop. That was a once-in-a lifetime performance you witnessed. If you cannot understand that, that's YOUR problem. I will applaud what Thompson did because it's the best I've seen in over 50 years of watching the NBA. Now just suck it up, buttercup.

That was truly amazing by Klay. But at the same time, how do u sit there and watch that happen and not even throw a double team at him? we are just an embarrassment of a team
This was my one concern. And yes, I did ENJOY the hell out of that. I took the "I Love this Game" ads a bit too literally in my youth, and that was about the best display that's ever been put on. Remember it when you are watching people fall asleep in their seats during the All Star skills competitions.

But anyway, there is this curious thing called a "double team". Its an archaic device from back in the 1.0 days when that defense stuff was played. Typically you break them out about the time a guy has gone 10-10 on you and is firebombing all takers from three point land.

Bobby Jackson seems to have no problem acknowledging what just happened. But let me guess Bobby is a sellout and doesn't know what he is talking about.......

They just showed the highlights and some of those were tough shots with hands right in his face. Some of those he was off balance and not even in full shooting form. The one finger roll layup he made was in heavy traffic with three defenders almost blocking it.

I don't know how anybody can watch those highlights and then say the Kings played no defense. Sure on some of them they didn't including a few of those early shots but a good 6 or 7 of those shots were well defended and/or tough shots and he made them all. Why is it bad to acknowledge that?

It doesn't make you any less of a Kings fan to acknowledge that another player just had the greatest shooting performance in history.

Respectfully disagree. I saw Kobe's 81 against the Raptors live. I also saw him go for sixty-two in three quarters against Dallas live. Both performances were much more impressive, in my mind. And I don't even like the BLS.

You gotta respect the history being made. It was like watching Reggie Miller vs. the Knicks. The Knicks were my second team back in those days, and I didn't like Miller. But omg was that an amazing performance.

And as for us, if anything it probably gets us off the hook. Nobody was going to beat Klay Thompson tonight. We were right there, and then Klay happened.

Well if he makes the three then he makes it. I assume these players have enough pride to not let another player make them look like D-League players.

It's not easy to do what Klay did. No one has. However this team continues to put up pathetic performance after pathetic performance. It's not like this defensive effort came out of nowhere. We see this every game and you seem surprised.

After the fourth three in a row, I'd have doubled him ninety-four feet, with and without the ball. Hell, I might have run a box-and-one, with the 'one' guarding the other four guys.

Sorry, but I'm really not in the mood for nit-picking right now. Feel free to edit my comment to suit your standards. I'm outta here.

Really that's "much more impressive" then scoring 37 points on just 13 shots and making 100% of them?

Is it possible to be much more impressive than a shooting performance that was literally perfect and the best in history?
