Klay wasn't all that in his rookie year. such an unfair and idiotic comparison

NO one knew Klay would be this good

Klay was a great shooter in his rookie year. He only averaged 24.4 mins but had 12.5pts 2.4rebs and 2asts while shooting .414% from 3 and .443% overall.
That's a pretty good rookie stat line.

I loved Klay at WSU. You might be able to tell from my username, but I've watched WSU big time when Klay was there. He was amazing.

It was poor defense which helped him get into his rhythm, then he took it into a zone few have ever entered which no one was going to stop.

Well if there was ever an eye opener for Vivek, this game was it. We all know he watched this one and probably had to change his underwear several times during the course of the game.

I didn't say you had to enjoy it but someone can at least respect or acknowledge it.

Once he hit like the 9th shot in a row the game was over anyways so might as well see if he can break the record. The Kings were just along for the ride at that point. Their defense wasn't bad on several of those shots.

Correction: Klay averaged 2.64 points per shot in the third. His True Shooting percentage was a mere 132%

Poor defense, no defense is better description. Yes occasionally someone on Kings was in his face but rarely. Once he really got rolling he should have seen a double to get it out of his hands but nope - keep rollin' Klay. We're not even going to send you to the line, keep rollin' Klay. The zone he was in probably guaranteed him 30 or so tonight but not 50+ - no way!

At this rate he may not have any players left to trade... everyone will just boycott like Rudy did tonight. I want to take time to apologize to Rudy and Cuz, who had signed extensions for a different plan, a different coach, and a different direction. I don't think any team in any league is quite as pathetic, poorly managed, and poorly coached for as long as we have been (excluding Malone - even though our record sucked last year).

That was not no defense. He was defended well on several of those shots once he got hot. The mistake they made was allowing him to get hot with the first three or four shots but after that it did not matter what the Kings did. I've certainly seen the Kings play a lot worse defense than that.

If bad defense led to players shooting 13 of 13 and scoring 37 points in a quarter..........this would happen all the time to the Kings yet it never has.

So with that being known isn't it safe to say that maybe just maybe we saw something other truly extraordinary?

Klay could have done this to any number of bad teams. Unfortunately tonight it had to be the Kings but nobody is going to care about the Kings part of the equation from a national perspective.
