Jimmy Butler is tearing it up, love that kid. He's the real MVP of the Bulls. I would say that Butler is more important to the Bulls now than Rose is. Still not sold on Rose. Weak mentality.
I appreciate the fans who do this but I just feel like it's a slap in the face of Corbin. It's not his fault that he was thrown into the fire like this, in fact I doubt he even thought it would be possible so soon. Ownership just needs to either give him a contract for the rest of the year tomorrow or hire a new coach now.
No, it's not a slap in the face to Corbin. He knows he's the interim coach. He also knows he was brought on by Malone so it's a compliment that he was even promoted to the head coach position on an interim basis.
No way, Ben would be eaten alive. Carmelo is a top 3 scorer in the league and absolutely loves to work from the post. Ben would have no chance. You don't put Ben in that position. Leave Gay on Carmelo, he is one of the leaders on the team and should lead by example. If not Gay, then Williams. You need size against Carmelo.
BUT... Rudy is getting tired because he is actually having to play D. Which is leading to him short arming and forcing poor shots (latter part of the 2nd quarter). Since they obviously aren't going to get Ben involved offensively this game, why not let him try it out? I do like the Dwill thought though, good call.

I feel for the guy, but this is business. Fans were here before Corbin and will be here long after he is gone. For the long term success of this team, I would be raising my sign to the rafters if I could. It's truly nothing personal, but I am concerned about the future and I don't want an inexperienced leader. Mullin was never even an assistant coach for crying out loud. Corbin knows he isn't coaching the Kings after this season anyway. If you think about it, we are doing him a favor so he isn't Vivek's little puppet. Karl don't take no crap from an owner who thinks he knows best. That is precisely why Vivek won't hire him (possibly just for now).

To quote Stephen A. Smith, "fair is a place where they judge pigs". What is fair and what is good are not always the same thing. This is a cut-throat business.

You just give up too much on the defensive end (height and weight). Carmelo would feast. Basketball is a two way game, you have to be able to play both ends (maybe not if Vivek gets his wish). If Rudy needs a break, then fine, switch up a couple of possessions if need be or sub him out, but Ben on Carmelo would not be advantageous for us.
But that's not on us. We want/need/deserve the best possible coach for our Kings. George Karl fits the bill. Remember, the old saw - the NBA is a business.
Look at it this way. The faster we get Karl, the quicker Corbin can properly rehab his Achilles surgery.
