I tend to think about this often after Malone was fired. In this new mindset and fast-paced style that the front office wants to install is having DeMarcus a smart move? Would it be better for them to trade him for assets and fast-paced players? I certainly want to keep Boogie and then move away from a fast paced style but having Boogie doesn't seem to make sense in a run and gun style.
In one sense he makes sense for the 4-5 that Vivek speaks of but offensively as opposed to defensively. As in crash the boards and throw the outlet for fast breaks. However that can be done much cheaper with a guy like Reggie.
Remember I'm a Wildcats and Kings fan so there are few if any people on this board that want to keep Boogie more than I do. However it seems as if that having him is counter productive to what the front office is going to do. You cannot fire the owner but the players can be traded.
I believe the worst thing that could happen for the front office and for Boogie is to keep him here and try to play this run and gun offense. As much as I hate to say it maybe trading DeMarcus is best for both parties. Please someone bring me to my senses and tell me I'm completely wrong and that DeMarcus can flourish with the front office wants to do.
