DeMarcus Cousins Medical Update

SACRAMENTO, CA ---- Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins underwent additional evaluation on Tuesday evening as he continues to recover from a viral infection.

Team physicians, led by Dr. Jason Brayley of Kaiser Permanente, admitted DeMarcus to the hospital for treatment and rest. His condition is improving daily and a full recovery is anticipated.

Cousins will not be in uniform this weekend, with a return to competition expected by next week.

Wow.. looking pretty serious. You have to wonder what he actually has.

Get better, big man

Flu is no joke. People conveniently forget that in 1918 50-100 MILLION people died from it. Glad DMC is getting good medical treatment.

Perhaps this is just a reminder from the cosmos not to even think about joking about illnesses, injuries, etc. when it comes to the Kings.

Well now is the time to get that first win without him.
Off topic from what should be a "get well" type thread, but we'd better. From a purely basketball standpoint you couldn't have planned a better way to ruin our season than what has happened to our most important players these past two weeks. This month is everything, and Rudy may be hurting, Collison is out of rhythm and hurting, and DeMarcus caught something serious enough to send him to the hospital. NBA players are often incredibly coddled by their teams so you can't know whether you or I would have been admitted, but that still could mean him having lost weight and coming back weak too when he does get back. Weak East teams coming in, but both with big centers we can no longer match. We simply have to find an answer and pull those wins out. Have to now.

And fyi... it's not the flu.
How does James Ham know?

I have been hospitalized three times this year. The main reason was that I needed supportive care like fluids, electrolyte replacement, and that's about it. I was so weak I couldn't walk but that is a matter of my age as compared to Cousins.

Viral illnesses no matter what they are need to run their course. There is no cure for a viral illness at least in your typical cases.

With DeMarcus out of the hospital, I'm sure he has the ability to relay what the doctors told him to his head coach and his front office. Doesnt seem unreasonable for a reporter to get that information.
Um, no offense, but it seems pretty damned unreasonable to me.
