Sessions, and to a lesser extent, Stauskas. Hopefully Malone can find a way to mask their deficiencies.
Dont let Sessions handle the ball or make decisions... oh, he's our backup PG. Stauskas defended well in spurts in Phoenix, looked worse tonight, maybe because of the unit he was playing with.

Malone: "the bench just didn't have it tonight, for whatever reason"

The catalyst of that reason is Sessions
When have then been on though? Other than keeping the game close against an honestly pretty terrible Denver team, they have pretty much lost ground on the other team every time they're out there.

Landry and Casspi have been solid. But when all 5 bench players have been on the floor it's never good. Malone seriously needs to adjust his rotation plan

Some of you are relentlessly negative. I mean seriously.

We're 5-2. This okc team just took Memphis to the wire too.

Welcome to the NBA Ben.
The goal of this squad is to make the playoffs. In order to do that in this conference, teams need to win winnable games. In the context of the past decade, it's a promising start. In the context of this season? This type of game needs to be won more often than not by not making some of the mistakes that were made tonight.

We deserved losing.
I started watching from the mid 3rd.
It felt sloppy, and that the only reason the thunder didn't increase their lead was that they were pretty sloppy themselves. So if we have played the real thunder or a legit playoff team, we would have lost by 25, and you know what, as deserved. We missed FTs, made sloppy TOs, took 24 3's (!!) and committed too many dumb fouls.
You know what, I don't wanna win like this.

Let's be humble, we have obviously improved. Yet, we are far from being a playoff team.
Even if we are 7-0. Let's never forget where we came from. Never be arrogant. Always be humble. Never be a laker fan.

This is the first game this season that we haven't won the rebounding edge and also the first game we haven't made 30 or more trips to the line. We gave them this game, pure and simple. They did the exact same things to us that we've been doing to other teams. And I really don't understand it. At some point I expected the team to rally and right the ship. We've played like a team since the Golden State game and tonight it just appeared that everyone was so concerned with the refs and what Perkins and Adams were doing that they never came together as a unit. We need more from Cousins than what we got tonight and more from our bench as well, but it's a learning experience. Come out strong against Dallas and make this just a small bump in the road.

Marinate on this for a minute: if Cousins couldn't get calls against Steven Adams and Kendrick Perkins, what's he going to be in for when he plays two of the last three DPOY's in successive games?
I am not too worried about Cousins, he can still be productive even without as many free throws. I am more concerned about our sudden desire to freeze Cousins out of the offense. There were several possessions where I was literally yelling at my computer for Cousins to get the ball, and on one he had Jackson on him. The whole game seemed unorganized. We tried to play their game and lost.

OKC outkinged the Kings.
Refs and all, game was still there to be taken after Ben's 3pt. However they hit tough contested short range shot, block on the other side, hustle offensive rebound/score and brain fart foul just within 2 min, OKC kept composure, game over. .

On the positive side.. Ben

This was a frustrating game to watch. Especially the loose ball/rebounding festival of love that OKC enjoyed. I can't stand not being able to rebound.

No more of Sessions. No more. 7 games in, and he's played like CRAP in all of them. ALL of them. At this point, I'd rather have Ray play. Sessions has been terrible in all ways. He can't defend and he can't score. He's playing so damn passive right now.

Tonight was the first time since Dec 3, 2013, that we had at least 23 assists and 10 or fewer turnovers in a game, and lost. The last time that happened... was also against Oklahoma City.

I'm going to have to have to eat tuna casserole for the rest of my life, aren't I?
Going to have to start a Kickstarter campaign

I agree with Kayte: I'm unwilling to look at a game where we got outrebounded (giving up eleven offensive rebounds), and missed seven free throws, and say it was the ref's fault.

But you can't screw around with this. Us being good is a phenomenon only 2 weeks old. Certainly not long enough for us to start overlooking teams no matter how messed up.
The moral lesson of the above.

We don't need this kind of loss especially against this kind of team without their main guys (No Durant/Westbrook). We should have kept on winning even at the expense of benching Sessions and staying away from that freakin style of benching the starters for too long. The team is young and they would learn more from winning every winnable game. We should have stayed away from giving and waiting for bench guys (Example is Sessions) to find their way to win.

I hope coach Malone learns from this soon enough.

I also hope the effect of this loss would not be that demoralizing to our young players.

We say this and yet DFC played 34 minutes, Rudy played 37 minutes, and DC played 35 minutes.

Ben did only play 28 minutes though

Oh no!

But we have to have his back however bad he is pulling us down, so he would know he is part of this team!

So 7 games in and we know Ben can play defense and with his athletisicm and eagerness to play defense he will get better. But his offense/jump shot is improving after the GS game he is shooting 11-26 (42%). Yes we got a player!!!

And all the people getting in Nik take note of Bend improvement.

I agree.

I don't know how much more Malone can tolerate this. I hope not for long and not at the expense of wasting precious playing time and other players who can contribute more. Malone needs to bench Sessions and give him time to soul-search at the end of the bench. We cannot wait forever for Sessions to wake-up. Malone should try using Ray McCallum (and bench Sessions) next game.
