Let it be pointed out that the champion of the Vegas Summer League (or, more correctly, the NBA team affiliated with the champion of the Vegas Summer League) ha a 100% success record in making the playoffs the next season. Let's keep that record up!

(Never mind that the sample size is one.)

Why the heck does the nbatv ticker scroll thing keep saying Orianthi scored 29 points?? Prob powers to be as usual trolling the kings lol..

BTW, nobody except Moreland on our roster really jumped out in this SL. I like Nik's sophistication, but he was often invisible (and occasionally frozen out).

but the one x-factor for our, ahem, "championship" that might be going overlooked is this name: Ty Corbin. We signed him just before SL, he takes over the team, and you get a team without the best individual performers in SL (although obviously with a lot of lower level NBA guys) and he, who was head coaching in the NBA just a few months ago, gets them organized and playing like a real basketball team, not just a scrimmage squad, in the matter of only a week or so. He might be the hidden MVP here. Guy who's been there at the NBA level.
Definitely. We played like a team on both ends and that's why we were successful. Credit has to go to the coaching staff for turning this mismatched group of players with one legit big and a bunch of ball-dominant guards into a winning team. The talent level is pretty even across all of these teams. Almost all of them have a couple high profile draftees, some second round picks, and a bunch of D league level guys looking for a job. We consistently outplayed all of them and that says good things about the work put in behind the scenes.

Fun game to watch. Good for the young guns to go out there and really want it. Hopefully the confidence and aggression translates into the regular season where they can help the team improve and in the process have a cohesive unit out there that can build some solid chemistry.

Their auto-ticker stats have had the Kings roster messed up all VSL. As far as I've seen, it's only the Kings - our opponents had the correct player names listed by their stats on the ticker. "Oriakhi" (#4) is really McCallum (#3).

Corbin was our top acquisition this summer: arguably Top Five of the entire league.

Great performance by the team

#Ray was in god mode
#Acy and Mclemore after being awful in the 4th came up huge in the final 5
#Moreland just never stops
#Nik looks crazy fatigued last 3 games still played well

This team played harder in 5-6 games than the regular season squad did in 82, we won cause we played hard and moved the ball that's basketball not this 1 on 1 isolation garbage we run with no defence, hearth and desire along with unselfishness will go a long way,

I hope Jent sticks. But I agree with your assessment of Corbin. He has a good presence and exudes confidence. While I can't stand Rick Fox, Corbin showed some style in the little quickie interviews he had with Fox.
When your coaching staff has Corliss Williamson and Tyrone Corbin, the team can't help but absorb some toughness with class. Could be the best assistant coaching duo we could hope for.

Add in Mitch Richmond and Chris Mullin....yes things are looking up
