[Game] SL Championship game! Kings v. Rockets - July 21 - 6 pm PDT

Question?
How long has it been since a Sacramento King's fan has been excited about actual basketball in the middle of July?

It is sort of silly, but I don't care.
It's great to have something to be happy about.

And the fact that the FO believes that it is important for this team and the culture to win...and then to go out and accomplish it...couldn't ask for much more when it comes to Summer League.

Nice job by the players to play together, nice job by the coaching staff and nice job by the FO in getting Moreland and Brooks and Cunningham and James added to our mainstays

I think this was a huge moment for all of our young guys. Ray, Ben, Nik, and Quincy were a huge part of this and now they get to go into next season feeling good about themselves. We've probably found a rotation player in Eric Moreland and maybe Marshon Brooks too, if we can afford both of them. Plus we get to return next year as the defending champs. I may be biased :) but I don't think any team in the NBA was more in need of something to feel good about than our group.

BTW, nobody except Moreland on our roster really jumped out in this SL. I like Nik's sophistication, but he was often invisible (and occasionally frozen out).

but the one x-factor for our, ahem, "championship" that might be going overlooked is this name: Ty Corbin. We signed him just before SL, he takes over the team, and you get a team without the best individual performers in SL (although obviously with a lot of lower level NBA guys) and he, who was head coaching in the NBA just a few months ago, gets them organized and playing like a real basketball team, not just a scrimmage squad, in the matter of only a week or so. He might be the hidden MVP here. Guy who's been there at the NBA level.

What stood out is we played defense and team ball.
