Ray McCallum

I don't want either Ray or IT starting next year. We go that route and we can expect more of the same. This place will once again be dead by March, 2015. The question IMO which needs to be asked and the FO is asking themselves is who's going to be the backup PG next year, IT or Ray? Is Ray an affordable/cheaper replacement if they let IT walk or will they bring back IT, crushing any future Ray has here?

Only way Ray and IT work next year is if that is our PG rotation next year, which I in no way would be a fan of. Like it or not we've got to swap out a lot of the crap surrounding Rudy/Boogie. Need a legit, experienced starting PG who's not jacking it up 15 times a night, some 3&D guys and a shotblocking presence down low. Killing cap space by re-signing IT and running out the same backcourt along with Ben would be insanity.

What's insanity? Trying the same thing and expecting different results. So yes, new back court is a must. I personally don't think we should start any of IT/Ray/Ben next year if we're even halfway serious about winning. We're got the best offensive center in the league. The pressure is on to surround him with fitting talent, not just wanting to bring back our own because of emotional attachments to players and sentimental feelings.
Well, that's just great to hear Sparky, but how do you go about replacing an entire back court along with finding a suitable front-court mate for Boogie? Think you might have some unrealistic expectations eh?

Sad reality is, the only real addition next season will be our draft pick. Even letting IT walk for nothing, the pick will put our cap at $69 mil or so. Which totally eliminates FA and Ben, D-Will, JT, Landry and Ray as our only trade-chips.

Like it or not, we either commit to IT, Ray, Ben, Rudy, Cuz, New draft pick, or we get to move in the opposite direction and wait until some of our contracts run out.

Our gerbil managed to turn a guy with one leg into a former #2 pick, a stack of junk into a 20ppg scorer, and managed to move Marcus Thornton on what had turned into a $1mil per pt contract. I think you significantly underestimate just what desperate and determined aggression with full "make something happen" backing of ownership can do sometimes.

Then whatever we do, we can't by any means get Lillard, Curry, Irving, Walker and Wall . Their teams can call the Kings and beg them to take them, but we, because we really know what we're doing and like a "pure point guard," will refuse due to our principles. No way, no how, can we possibly expect success with those guys.

Now you're getting it!

Why not keep Ray Mac and IT and draft Exum or Smart (don't like him but his defense is great and if he improves his shooting...good player potential). Ray Mac can actually play the 1 and 2 position. We could run a lineup similar to what Phoenix is doing with Dragic and Bledsoe.

IT will be laughing his way to the bank when he transforms the Bucks in NBA champions next season.
All Kidding aside a Team like the Bucks could make IT a crazy offer and land the young PG. And you know what, good for IT as it is a business anyhow. If it happens I hope Pete wrangles a player out of them like he did with GV and the Pelicans.

All that said I hope IT stays on the Kings and takes his rightful place as the Best Sixth Man in the Association.

Why are all the Kings on one side of the court and the Lakers on the other side?
The image depicts a very exciting moment during warmups. The fans are going wild! Maybe McLemore just pulled off a 720 in the layup line.

(One might ask why the Kings on the floor are wearing purple but IT on the big screen is wearing white.)

Maybe 2 seconds left until the horn sounds and the game starts and the crowd is getting into it? Or maybe IT is trying to rile them up? Who knows...
