in my mind, the kings need to utilize demarcus cousins and isaiah thomas to get roy hibbert into foul trouble if they're going to have a chance in this game. all of the hullabaloo over hibbert's defensive prowess is precisely because he's a master of avoiding excessive contact while protecting the rim. in 30 mpg, he only averages about 3 fouls. that said, cousins needs to face up hibbert as often as possible and take him out of his comfort zone, and thomas needs to use his quicks to get to the rim, putting himself in a position to draw contact from hibbert when he slides over to help...

george hill is certainly a good defender at the PG position, but thomas shouldn't have any problem getting by him, particularly in the pick and roll. elsewhere, hopefully rudy gay will have some success containing paul george, who's slumping just a tad right now. but lance stephenson scares me as an x factor of sorts. he's exactly the kind of player who, if motivated, will absolutely carve up the kings defense on the way to the rim. the pacers kinda present nightmare match-ups all over the place, and i suppose that's to their credit as the best team in the league...
lance stephenson in first half: 13 pts (5-7 shooting), 4 rebs, 3 asts, 1 stl

Well if you'd prefer Gay fouling out in the third quarter, sure. Plus who"s going to guard George? Williams? Don't hold your breath.
Rudy Gay unlike the current two SG's is not a moron he will only foul out due to bad calls, plus at least him and Williams provide something going the other way other than bad shots. I really wish people would stop pretending that our current SG's can defend or score.

You can't compete playing 4 on 6 you just can't against trash teams let alone the Pacers.

IT is playing like complete trash. Cousins is playing fearfully and I am not quite sure what his problem is... mind games from David West? Stephenson is arrogant and it annoys me. MT and Ben should not see the court 2nd half. We need Williams on the court. Beat them up with our size.

Thanks! I'm the one guy here cheering for the Kings haha. Atmosphere's quite loud for the Pacers today. Unfortunately I might have to leave before the 4th to catch a bus for a 3 hour journey home. Else I'll be stranded in Indianapolis

And I wish you'd stop ignoring most of my argument to talk about something I never even referred to.

Your argument makes no sense that's why if Rudy Gay is our best defender put him on the guy doing the most damage instead of allowing him to rape our guards.

Watching those old kings highlights makes me think we need a Doug Christie type player on our team. Loved his defense on the perimeter and intensity. Blue collar player not afraid to do the dirty work

Following the game thread on PacersDigest, I can pretty much guarantee any thoughts anybody has of us getting Lance are a total and complete waste of time. He ain't goin' nowhere.

Asking one of your top players to constantly batten down the hatches and guard Stephenson is not a solution to everything. You don't see Lebron actually guarding the other team's best driver unless it's crunch time. Even if Rudy could stay in front of Lance, it's going to force him to expend a lot more energy that he probably should on the first game of a back to back.

No, your argument doesn't take into effect the depth and danger of the Pacers lineup. There's no easy solution to not having a decent SG to guard theirs.
