Some of you need to take a pill or something. The amount of venom being spewed towards our own team - a team that did a pretty damned good job against a top tier team - is embarrassing.
Frustration...that's all. We had an opportunity but Spurs have Duncan, Parker and Ginobili. Duncan shut Cuz down in the last 3 minutes, Manu and Parker had their way like most good guards against us.

I watch all the games and do not post much. I have to say whether it is a rookie thing or not, but Ben has been a disappointment so far. I think he has gotten enough minutes to get into the flow of the game better. I will say he was much like TRob as far as having a lot between the ears. We need more points and D from that position. I hope he turns it around, one thing he can do is shoot, hopefully his confidence won't dip too much. He was known at Kansas to have big games, then disappear.

benching ben during a season where we have almost no shot at the play-Offs to win games is a bad idea. Now, I do want Williams to start, he looked like he could potentially live up to the top pick when he was starting with us.

Why not try IT-Ben-Gay-Williams-Cousins? We have nothing to lose.
Bring Ben off the bench, but still play him. Not "bench him" as in out of the rotation

Some of you are getting way too excited.

And lay off Ben. Expectations are way too high right now. We are 9-20. The spurs are 24-7. You saw why. We didn't play poorly. We got beat by a much better team in their place.

Ok kids the Spurs have been closing out close games for over a decade! Did some of our guys make mistakes? sure, but these are YOUNG players with a first year coach. At this point you pat the guys on back for playing a good game and taking the Spurs down to the wire, THEN you look at tape and you LEARN from your mistakes and move on.

What the hell makes everyone think that Gay and Williams are capable of guarding 2s? Going big might have some benefits but it could also make an already porous defense even more porous. I realize that Ben has been a disappointment in many of your eyes but the solution to keeping the Titanic from sinking isn't to blow another hole in the ship's hull.

Williams is better at playing the SF position not the PF.

we need Williams down the stretch. He's more valuable and has more impact than Ben, by far...stats or no stats
Dude, Williams was awful tonight. MT was not very good tonight. As far a Ben, it is what is....it's not like our big 3 were sterling down the stretch....I take that back...IT and Cuz were not good down the stretch, Gay didn't touch the ball and whose fault would that be?

They played him at 4. He's not effective at 4

Still, none of the Ben haters have answeredthis question -

HOW WILL HE MAKE THREES WHEN HE CAN'T GET THE BALL TO SHOOT THEM???
Not really the issue. It's his ball handling leading to turnovers. It's his getting burned on defense. He made most of the big mistakes at the end of the game. He had a open layup with Splitter out of position and he passes the ball to JT with little time on the clock. That's a rookie mistake, but the rest is really aggravating.

I certainly think Ben is a capable scorer, his defense has to improve and maybe he needs to move better without the ball to get open for shots. I look for him to have a 30 pt game before the season is over, if he gets hot his stroke is beautiful and if he gets hot the team should be willing passers. I love IT, but a Rondo/Cousins/Gay/ McLemore would be awesome.

Exactly. Frustrating but the fact we had a chance to win late is encouraging....we still need a few pieces and some experience.....and this was on the road as well......good stuff

You take away Mclemore and Thornton and we have a comfortable 5-10 point win 2night that's where the frustration comes from. At both ends they just combined to destroy us like no one else this season. I can accept losing to a team that out plays us I can't accept losing cause of two idiots who every single game you have to wonder why are they in the NBA.

Bingo. He won't develop and improve at the 4, against these type players in the NBA. He's right back in the same situation he found himself in with Minnesota
Williams can't guard Duncan and he can't get past Duncan's defense, same with Splitter. Williams is too small to guard Duncan/Splitter and he's no LeBron James to get past those two.

Thomas and Gay each played 37+ minutes. If you don't play McLemore and Thornton, then either you have to live with extended minutes from Fredette and/or McCallum, or you have to play Thomas and Gay 45+, and they're on dead legs down the stretch, and we lose, anyway.

You take away ITs defense and we have a 5-10 point lead
You take away our team giving up offensive rebounds and we have a 5-10 point lead
You take away the Jimmer led bench unit and we win by 5-10 points
If JT and DWill were better we win by 5-10.
Come on man.
