Okay, fellow Kings fans, I just finished watching the Niner game and I need a quick catchup. I see the obvious - we're behind 36-30. What else to I need to know to get up to speed?
2 early fouls on IT...giving up off. Rebounds to guys like Diaw....Jimmer trying to penetrate and not working..Cuz dominating

Mike Malone created that Spurs run for them. WTF. How many bleeping times does it have to happen? How many times does he have to say "oh, I always want to keep one of Cousins, Gay or IT" on the floor before he actually listens to himself? That's a coach made run right there. not their coach. Ours.

Well, this is just depressing... They could at least sit out a couple of their starters, just to be neighborly or something.

Oh, please, kind sir, tell us ignorati what those initials mean.
I'll take a crack at a full explanation, beginning with the fact that Slim seems to dislike this strange need of some to provide nicknames/abbreviations for all our players, which are occasionally longer or harder to say than the players' actual names.

Enter newly acquired player Rudy Gay, who happens to have two small and easy to type names. Resigning to his fate and acknowledging the inevitable, Slim proposes a nickname for Rudy to get it over with.

He suggests NTTAWWT. This is an acronym for the saying "Not that there's anything wrong with that" which originated from the television show 'Seinfeld'

The connection is that this saying was used on the show in reference to gay people, gay tendencies, gay behavior, etc. Gay is Rudy's last name.

And an awful nickname was preemptively born.

I don't understand it either. Now down 14 is going to be tough against this team

Edit.. Well the real issue is that our team just isn't as deep. Have to rest the starters some

First time I seen Cousins use the Tim Duncan shot in a long time, that's one jumper I really like him shooting more often if he is going to shot.

But yeah I agree with the above posts that was not good coaching

You have to give your starters some rest. You have to take your chances with the bench and hope they don't do too much damage. I'm not as convinced as some of you that Malone is guilty of poor coaching. I think he's doing the best he can with what he has...

I hope that you find my follow-up response to be suitable?

EDIT - It's not like I'm keeping it a secret. It refers to Rudy Gay. Although, if you ask me why I use it, some of you might take offense.

Sluugah's post is as close to the right answer as I care to say publicly, except to add that I am also mocking people.

When your bench is thinner than a McDonald's hamburger it's hard to rest ANY starters with out giving a good team a run.

wondering the same thing about Ray McCallum. he keeps saying he needs to trust him and give him a chance to play. but he won't do it.
and its not like Jimmer is doing anything to validate his continuing minutes

Will he ever be? That is a strong concern of mine
I have no idea. I have my doubts. I've always had my doubts. I wanted no part of him before the draft, then he sort of fell in our laps.

That's why I'd have no issue trading him if the right offer came around. He reminds me so much of Thomas Robinson mentally. Like he just doesn't understand what he's supposed to do at any given time. He's shooting when he shouldn't, not shooting when he should. Helping at weird times. Falling asleep on off the ball defense / leaving shooting. His head is a mess right now.

he doesn't need to sit all 5 starters at he same time, there is really no need for that. and he did it for an extended stretch, against the SA Spurs of all people. it did not go well.

And he left Jimmer in for WAY too long. yes Isaiah had 2 fouls. but you have to be able to put him back in early in the 2nd and trust that he wont pick up another foul

I have a lot more to worry about personally than whether or not Ray McCallum is going to see playing time. If he had any skills at all, don't you think he'd be out there? I suspect he is either totally unable to understand offensive schemes or he's even less adapt than Jimmer or he's showing so little in practice it's obvious to everyone he's not ready.

Everybody clamored for Ben to start. And look what's happened. The idea of rookies being able to compete successfully right away in the NBA is something way too many people take for granted. A good number of rookies just aren't able to do so. The gap between college and the NBA is not just a puddle for those rookies not named Lebron James or Kevin Durant.
