Well he did get yanked immediately after that. He's played 7 minutes in the 1st half.
They must be trying to develop the other players for the NBA roster. Orrrrr, they don't want Ben to play and learn bad habits. It's not fun to watch, that's for sure.

I think anything he does off the dribble is just incredibly shaky.

IN the first game he actually made several nice passes from relatively stationary positions. I just don't think he can dribble at all, so passes off the dribble are as wild as everything else.
Yeah, he's no Steve Nash putting the ball on the floor.

But I'm thinking regular season he'll have no reason to dribble. They surrounded ray and Ben with some horrible talent. Man. Showed all tourney, but it's glaring right now. There are two worse teams? I don't think so. Do you get draft picks for a bad summer league?

Right. He has the tools, he's just playing with subpar options on the floor
I am on page 2 of 4 so far in here, but this is how I see him right now. I haven't seen anything that is a red flag as his ability to be a starter if the other positions are solid. A lot of the shots he and McLemore are taking just go away with better guys available so the not passing thing should never be a problem with a good coach. I doubt Malone lets the guards run free like Smart did with IT.

I think there are a lot of excuses being made for McLemore but I don't understand what is being accomplished with Ben on the bench.

That play just now, McCallum spent a good 5-10 seconds trying to pass the ball into that guy who was trying to post up way to far away. The guy he was trying to pass to couldn't get open or create any space or give him a good target to pass it into. JT, Cousins, Landry and even Hayes would have been able to use their body to position it to receive that pass.

McCallum didn't force it into the player and cause a turnover, he backed it out and looked for something else which is something that tells me he does have the understanding to run the point.

Hell, even Justin Williams would have been able to establish position there.

Maybe he is hurt or tired or something, only good reason really. You would think we would give him all the burn we could during summer league games.

This tournament is rigged anyways guys. The D-League Select team has already been pencilled in as the winner to show how good the NBA can develop players ;)

yeah, fouls are almost never an issue, certainly not there.

Could be fatigue. You worry its injury.
May have been on that hard foul early in the game. I think he may have been pulled out right after that. Don't want to go back and check because I can't stand watching that horror show again.
