Grant mentioned it a few times last night, but how many loose balls did the Kings get last night? Rebounding is all hustle and want to, and the coach seems to be making the right moves.
Youth is a good thing for the Kings right now. These guys dont have the veteran attitude yet, they are just hustling all over the court. This translates into getting those loose balls, and how bout the rebounding? This is the second game in a row Ive watched (missed Warrior game) where it seems like it is one shot and out for the opponent. What a difference between last year.
So Mayes has disappeared to the bench, which is right where I think he should be. So what was up with those first 2 games and him getting the start? Was this just part of a plan by Westphal to put a little motivation in Hawes?
I love the way Paul doesnt seem to have a set rotation yet. Lets see who can do what, and what many of us have been clamoring for (Dont Green) is also happening. I am pretty pleased with what I see from the coach at this point.
Now if someone could teach JT how to finish. He has some of the worst touch of any player near the basket I have seen. He just might crack the backboard soon.... with one of his shots.
I have zero expectations for this team as far as wins and loses. I just want to see the young players develop, continue to improve, and most importantly keep hustling. Hopefuly if that happens, some more butts will get into an empty Arco. It is sad to see it that empty. I think this group deserves more from the area.
