Young guns!

I don't think either should be on the bench and there in lies the problem. If Martin starts and Bonzi is gone, who backs up Martin? Back to the problem we had in the beginning of the year with no one to back up Bonzi. (when K. Martin wasn't tearin it up) I don't know what they'll do. At least its a problem at this position where too much talent is the case instead of too little.

Can't Garcia fill in at the 2 and if we make a move for Earl Watson, can't he also fill in at 2?

Just thoughts.

I agree whole-heartedly though - neither player should be on the bench and neither player can supplant Artest at the 3.

To me, there are two places where two players that should be starters are going to be at loggerheads to gain position:

Martin/Bonzi
Reef/Thomas

It's really tough to place any of those players on the bench, in my opinion. They all are starter worthy on a lot of teams. I'd look to move Bonzi/Thomas in the offseason for a combo-guard. I think Skinner can admirably back up Reef/Miller.

errrr you mean 4x4

???

Two more blocks and he would have had a 5x5, and some say they thought he might have blocked a shot he didn't get credit for....

I'm not ready to annoint Martin a starter just yet, but he's getting there. Reef/Thomas should be an easy one with Reef getting the edge on talent, but Thomas is a whiner and has been playing well while starting. As long as Reef doesn't mind coming off the bench, and he gets his minutes, I see no problem with that logjam. The Martin/Bonzi logjam is a problem and it will be interesting to see how it is handled.

What has this world come to. Skinner backing up Reef at C???

No, I meant, Skinner backing up Reef @ PF and Miller @ C. I think Skinner can play both roles.

why cant martin come off the bench? as long as hes getting around 25 minutes per game, i see no problem...he'll still develop and as long as its not a all-bench unit out when he gets in, he'll get his shots and scoring

just look at that one game where he came off the bench for 25 pts, whos to say he cant continue a trend similar to that? i think he has 6th man calibur written all over him after showing what he can do as a starter

Oh, he can ...

But, why? So we can keep Bonzi and probably overpay him right now? I don't think that's wise.

NOW - if Bonzi comes in reasonable and doesn't expect to get paid like a champ ... then I'd reconsider.

The way I look at it is that we have a blooming stud right now that is bringing everything that Bonzi does, and is more of a traditional SG. He's cheap and efficient. Why would you pay through the nose for a similar product?

This was my first game that I can watch since the Artest trade. I have only been listening to games. I always wondered how these two looked on the floor as of late, and wow what change from just a month ago. They look completely like new players. Martin, wow, and Garcia, just wow! They were awesome last night, and as much hope I've had for them before, multiply it by 10. I hope we can make the play-offs and suprise a few teams. Garcia looks really good at the point, hopefully he'll develop very well for the future and we'll actually have someone tall playing PG.

Terrific games from both! What's fun to watch is the interaction between them. You can just see them pulling for each other!:D

You can see all the guys pulling for each other. Wow, it is such a difference than from just even two weeks ago. The camaraderie is back and so are our Kings.

PS, I am in love with you Kevin Martin in case you are reading this... ;) Don't worry Garcia, I got you next week! :D

Indeed.

I simply haven't forgot about Bonzi Wells at all, but am loving K-Mart's progression. Wouldn't say he'll slot into the starting job unless Bonzi's traded or can't stay healthy.

i dont want to see Skinner at PF, maybe Miller but not Skinner... he has no offensive presence.

Bonzi should not lose the starting spot. He's an extremely resourceful player and he needs to be out there even if he can't hit anything. Martin has shown he can score just fine off the bench and that's exactly what we need.
