Probably one of those "spread the joy" games, like the Kings at Lakers game played in Fresno.

Last year or in 2004, the Monarchs played the Minnesota Lynx in a pre-season game in New Mexico.

Back then, the connections were:

(1.) The Lynx had a player named Jordan Adams, who had played at the Univ. of New Mexico, so the idea was to pull as many of her old college fans to the game.

(2.) Coach Whiz is from New Mexico.

(3.) And the Maloofs are also from the area.
