[OLY] Winter Olympics 2026, Milano/Cortina d'Ampezzo

United States blew a three-point lead in the tenth end but rallied in the extra end to defeat Switzerland and advance to the semifinals in women's curling. USA is one of six countries to have competed in women's curling in every Olympics since it debuted, and the only one of those six to have never won a medal.
Their impressive start has been ruined by some dog crap play at the end lately. The Great Britain game where they had the hammer and somehow let them steal 2 in the 10th to win outright was something else. Also losing to the Italian Instagram team.

The Great Britain game you speak of was annoying as hell. Well, at least the conclusion of it was.

How familiar are you with bocce?
I understand curling although I don't always get some of the strategy - though I also get a lot of times the strategy is play super conservatively so you can have one crazy 3 or 4 point end that essentially decides the match. But I wonder, is bar shuffleboard supposed to be played by curling rules, or is that something only people who enjoy curling but can't be bothered to find a local curling club do?

Sudden death?

Alysa Liu (USA) wins the women's individual Figure Skating, preventing a podium sweep by Japan. It is the first Gold Medal in this event by United States since 2002 (Sarah Hughes), and the first medal of any kind since 2006 (Sasha Cohen).
