For a team that is so smart offensively... the kings sure are DUMB when it comes to what it takes to win a championship... how many times have we seen them bat the ball around instead of securing the rebound (ie. vlade game 5 to horry)... how many times are they going to allow the team that misses the free throw to get the freaking rebound (i.e. see last night game, every game)... how many times do you see 3 or 4 kings around the ball and then the one player from the other team gets the rebound (i.e. everry game)!!!

how many late game situations are the kings going to blow before they LEARN A FREAKING LESSON... Defense is NOT the problem... it has and always will be REBOUNDING!!!! ...until they learn that one simple aspect of the game, the kings will NEVER WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!

WILL THE KINGS EVER LEARN!!!!!!!

Defense and rebounding go together they are Twins and you cannot seperate the Two.If you don't stay infront of your man you are more and likely going to give up defensive rebounding positioning also when we have to switch and rotate constantly this leaves inside positioning open for inside rebounding for the opposition. The kings help to much cannot stay infront of their men and this results to poor late rotation and Rebounds are forfeited. They also don't go to the boards with any purpose they watch the flight of the rebound and then wait for the ball to come to them instead of going to get the Ball. These issiues with kings and rebounding are fundamental but it is obvious teh coaching staff hasn't worked on this area of the game.

Chris webber mummy rebounds he doesn't use his rear end and doesn't bend his knees when rebounding as a result he is constantly out of rebounding position and can't keep his man from tipping the ball over him.Peja doesn't go to the boards at all being 6'10 you would think he would and could be a better rebounder. But instead he watches the flight of the basketball waits for it to take a few bounces and hopes it comes right to him.No effort what so ever by peja. What the kings need to do is GANG rebound meaning all 5 guy's every defensive play most go to the boards, what they are doing is cheating cherry picking and looking for quick offense. When the game is early you can afford to do those things. But when you are in a close game all 5 guy's must go to the glass period. They also need to work on reboundding in practice. There is an old rebounding drill that can be done. It's rolling the ball on the floor and telling 2 players to wrestle and fight like pit bulls for the posession of the ball. They also need to teach the kings big men to use more of their lower Body's when boxing out,use more hips and butt to muscle for position.Magic and Bird were good at putting their butts and hips into rebounding, they did these things boxing out laimbeers and other giants.

Haha! :D

Kings have been having rebounding problems since last season. It's nothing new to me. It's just they're weakest/flaw. Wish they were a perfect team, make every shot, every FT, every steal, no turnovers, grab every rebounds, all the good stuff to win. But that's pretty impossible to do.

I wish the Kings can rebound better like all Kings fans want but that's just not their strength right now. This is why when the Kings outrebound other teams, it's always nice to see. :)

PS: I wouldn't say every game though. If it was every game, the Kings will have a losing record right now.

Well it's a 50-50 chance tonight. Who's gonna guard Dirk???? Who's gonna step up to the Defensive front???? Who's gonna take charge and direct this team?????? Who's gonna listen to the coach,,,,etc..........

i thought Peja did an okay job on him last year in the playoffs...but at the same time i don't remember a whole lot of the defensive tip from the playoffs last year...my bet is Peja sees the most time on Dirk...i really don't think Chris can guard Dirk

I hope Peja guards Dirk. He seems to do a better job defending him than anyone else on the team, whch is not saying much cos Dirk will still light you up.

that was game 4 buddy, game 5 was a saweeet clutch shot by bibby. but yah i agree with the rebounding. it was so obvious last night seeing peja. his feet were stuck in mud whenever a ball came near him. he would just wave his hands around with his feet planted in the ground while rashard did everything he could to get it. im glad hes getting his shooting back but man does he suck on getting rebounds. peja for pierce straight up.

id rather have peja on stackhouse if hes back for tonite. i remember seeing dirk in the post working peja last year. in 03 webber guarded dirk alot and it seemed to work alot better and webber is looking his best since around 01 02 so i say throw webb on dirk. i dont trust peja on defense until the last shot of a game like the playoffs last year, 3 games where he made the last defensive stop. maybe dirk, nash, n finley just saw peja and thought... "damn i wish i could shoot like that guy" and put the pressure on

Its time for Mo Evans and Matt to step up again, the re-bounding lesson must be in focus tonight. Brad will be back, The scoring will be there. A mad Kings team bent on stopping the bleeding in the loss column is what will do it. Was the Tag asleep in the paint last night?

Shaka is right about rebounding, and I can only hope that Pete Carill will work on the teams rebounding as hard as he has Tag's free throws!
