Eventhough I think both the elbow and follow through were intentional, based on a camera angle from the sideline, it's not really something the nba can prove. On this foum we can't even agree if, or how much of it was intentional. Anything that questionable isn't likely to draw a fine or supsension from the league.
Aside from that, I really would like to see someone on this team send a message next season. Not so much for retaliation, although seeing Brock slam Illyasova to the floor would bring a smile to my face, but more these young guys on our roster have to learn how to stand up for each other. As we become more successful, and more of a playoff threat, we will be tested by other teams. They will try to send messages with hard fouls and physical play. We will have to learn to stand up to it, and also stand up to anyone who tries to take shots at our budding superstar.
At some point next season, Tyreke will be fouled hard and will fall hard. Someone will take a cheap shot at him at some point. When that happens, one of our bigs needs to stand up for Tyreke, and his teammate. Let the other team know they aren't getting away with that when they play us. I'm not talking about throwing punches or flagrant fouls. But say something, let them know it's not ok.
At this point, I'm not sure either JT or Spencer has the b**** to stand up to another nba player. I've seen them both get fouled very hard, and not even glance at the player that just hacked the crap out of them, and follow it up with extremely soft post defense, never returning the favor. You need to have a little bit of a chip on your shoulder to be a successful big in the league, let people know you're tough and not going to be pushed around. Carl has it. Never seen it out of JT or Spence.
