We've seen all of the candidates, so now it's time to choose your favorite. Out of all candidates that have been connected to the Kings, who would you choose?

I have three words: Larry-Effing-LEGEND.

Anyone that can build around Tyreke and Cousins properly. It can be Chris Hansen for all I care, as long as that person builds this team right.

Larry doesn't want the job.

Travis Schlenk of the Golden State Warriors has also been a candidate, while Larry Bird, R.C. Buford and others apparently rebuked the Kings' interest.

Then the guy to go with on that list is clearly the guy who okayed drafting them in the first place.

Not a biased poll by any means, right?

Bird doesn't seem to have any interest and that doesn't surprise me. If he comes back to the NBA in any capacity I have to imagine it will be a position with the Pacers. Neither does it surprise me that Buford doesn't want to go anywhere. I AM surprised that OKC keeps denying requests for teams to talk to Troy Weaver. He's a guy that I thought would be a very strong candidate.

Of the names mentioned who are actual candidates for the job at this point I'd take Schlenk. Lots of experience as a scout/talent evaluator and a guy who embraces the data analysis side of things. I can envision he and Malone building a very solid organizational foundation for the Kings. And quite frankly because I think Chris Wallace is terrible.

I sure would rather have Petrie consulting with Malone than Chris Wallace doing whatever he does. I was worried about the perception that the new ownership would hire a bunch of no bodies and appear no different than the Maloofs and Malone gives that appearance even if he is very skilled. Then we head off in a direction to get a GM, Wallace, who has made bad decision after bad decision. Sounds like the same song, different group to the average fan who doesn't know anything near what people on this forum know.

Vivek hired an unknown coach and is thinking seriously about hiring a bad GM. The Kings darn well better start of with a lot of wins. Malone was a great hire and now I hope there is a regain of common sense. It is difficult to keep a happy happy joy joy mood with the name Chris Wallace floating about. My glasses are not that purple.

I think it's GOTTA be Travis Schlenk. Numbers guy, really does his research, and I really, really think Vivek digs the analytical guys and he's worked with Malone. If it's anyone other than Schlenk, I'd think it would be Schlenk declining an offer internally.

What I find interesting is the rumor that Vivek wants to hire a consultant similar to West in GS. That could soften the risk of hiring a guy like Wallace who would come with a number of question marks.

I sure hope so. Of the options remaining he's far and away my choice.

BTW, anyone else see Carmichael Dave campaigning for Bill Simmons as our next GM on twitter the other day?

That's an example of why he should be kept away from any Kings related broadcasts/analysis.

I really wouldn't mind giving Petrie another year if there isn't a clearly better choice... But I can imagine Vivek and co want a new start.
