Kind of an interesting topic for NL West fans!

Didn't hav time earlier to endulge a bit on this, but this year the SD Padre pitchers have owned.. I am a Dodger fan, and love Brad Penny (although he seems to do better at the start of the year), but watching the San Deigo pitching this year has really astounded me. Peavy, and Young are friggin awesome. I can't believe the opponents batting averages when I looked it up. It's crazy how well they pitch. If only the ardes had an offensive game... They would win the World Series easy.

Colorado has a decent pitcher in Francis. I have seen a lot of him this year, and his pitching away from home rivals Penny's, and Webb's stats. His home record is good, but he does allow more hits because of the altitude.

As for SF pitching Cain is easily their best. He does get into jams because he does allow a bit too many walks, but He has got no run support. His stats outside is wins, and losses are tremendous.

Webb almost broke Hershiser's record. I was not wanting that since the Bulldog is my fav pitcher of all time, an one I mirrored myself after when I used to pitch :)

Wanted to put the best pitcher on each team w/ at least 25 or so starts.. I made an exception for Chris Young because he has been so damn dominant so I had to include two Padres..

But I think Cain is the best iant pitcher this year.

I am not an NL West fan, though I do pull for the Dodgers every year (born/raised/live in SoCal), but with the month Webb has had, I couldn't help but vote for him.

I am very surprised, perhaps pleasantly, that Barry Zito hasn't had a good enough year to even be considered on this list. He's had a few good starts in a row, but he isn't having the kind of year the Giants are giving him $10 million to have.

Then again, Jason Schmidt didn't do what the Dodgers expected, either. So maybe the Giants got it right, huh?
