Where were the Maloofs last night?

I noticed during last night's game against the Lakers, the Maloofs were nowhere to be found. Then I read Sam Amick's article today, and it says that the Maloofs were in Miami taping a television segment with Oprah Winfrey. IMHO, that is not good for our owners to be absent for the final home game of the season against our archrivals, the Lakers. Combine that with the increased absenteeism at Arco the last two years, and it really makes me wonder about the Maloofs commitment to Sacramento. There is a recent parody song by Whitey Gleason of the Rise Guys on KHTK titled "Kings Suck," to the tune of "King Tut." The best line in that song goes, "Joe, we've hardly seen 'ya, we need a new arena!" That line rings true.

Dude, you're looking far to much into this. One reason they weren't at as many games during the season was because of some pretty serious family health problems, that they did talk about on a couple of occasions. Oh, and as far as last night, yeah, if Oprah calls and wants to do something, I think I say yes...especially when the Kings have only won 33 games at that point. Oh yeah, and I think there's a guy with the initials SVG that lives in Miami that would make a pretty good 'replacement' for our current coach. Btw, that song Whitey wrote IS pretty damn funny.:D

From what I heard they were in South Florida doing some Charity with Oprah. Unclear on the details, but that's what I heard.

Can we please stop the insufferable analysis of the Maloofs' actual committment to Sacramento? This inferiority complex has to be reined in a bit.

We did this the entire summer of Webb's free agency discussing everything from it being easier to get a ring in the East to Sac's lack of Soul Food Restaurants.

It's got to stop -- and it rings of a needy girlfriend looking for evidence her boyfriend is going to leave.

Sacramento is a solid city, with a great fanbase, and potential, lucrative corporate sponsers both locally, or possibly from Silicon Valley and the Bay Area.

Stern has been spending a lot of his time working to get a deal done (Can't say the same about Seattle can we?) And it looks like they're pounding something out.

If that falls through, then that's valid reason to worry. A trip by the owners to Miami during a meaningless game at the end of a forgetable season is not.
