I am suprised that Monarchs' Assistant Coach Monique Ambers will be playing in China, along with Miao Lijie! When was the last time Monique played in a game competitively?

She's played pretty regularly in the offseason since her WNBA playing days ended. That's how they got the skinny on Miao last year because Ambers was a teammate of hers in the Chinese league, and that's also why they felt pretty comfortable with Miao on the team despite the language barrier because she and Ambers had spent time playing together.
