Is there anything (a television show, a book, a movie, a song, a favorite food, whatever), that you really like which is totally out of your character? Something that, if your friends found out, they'd be like, "No way! He's not into that!"

I, for example, am really into the song "Brighter than Sunshine," by Aqualung. If you were to tell one of my friends, they'd swear that you were talking about someone else: "Slim doesn't listen to crap like that!"

What's your guilty pleasure?

The soap opera General Hospital :D...but then I've also come to the conclusion that people don't really know what I like or that I don't fall into this cookie cutter image of who I am and what I should like. ::shrugs::

Shopping for Target clearances. I go 3-4 times a week looking for good deals. Some of the things I got:

1. Samsung HDTV Originally $699 - $170
2. Adams golf driver originally $129 - $17
3. Callaway golf bag originally $99 - $25
4. Good Start baby forumula (big can that has 25% more than regular) originally $23 - $10 (I grabbed 23 cans :) - that should last until my girl is a year old )

I love watching NASCAR. Most people I know cannot stand it, and cannot believe that I enjoy it. My mom, who was in the auto parts wholesale business for over 30 years, loves racing and got me to watch it (and enjoy it) with her. My brother who lives near Daytona is the only other family member that watches it.

I have such off the wall and diverse tastes in most things, I don't think much would surprise people who really know me. The only thing I can think of is that I like Barry Manilow.

enjoying the smell of flowers, writing poetry, taking walks on cold northern california beaches, and doing generally everything to break the male testosterone-filled archetype.

actually...i can't consider writing poetry a "guilty pleasure," cuz i absolutely love writing, and never feel guilty about it afterwards. technically, i never feel guilty about any of the pleasantries i enjoy, so no, i guess i don't have a guilty pleasure. i love life for many reasons, and if those are unpopular reasons, then so be it. :D

"The Flavor of Love" on VH1- FLAVA FLAV!!!!!!
Oh gosh me too! I feel like watching that show is the car accident syndrome- you know it's gonna be bad, but everyone still slows down to see it. Flavor of Love is like a train wreck in slow motion

Avidly watching sports.....and not just the Kings and basketball. Although my fiance' swears I of all people can be the next head coach with how many times I've yelled at players for mistakes.

Baseball, Football, Soccer. Even some things that may not be considered a sport like paintball.

Right now there's this Japanese show on ESPN2 called the Viking. It's a set of obstacle courses that people have to go through.

My friends as well as my brothers are surprised that I watch and know so much about sports, coming from a quiet girl who reads books.

I don't watch that particular show, but I have watched similar crap for the reasons you just stated. I have watched a few episodes of that 'Coyote Ugly' reality show on CMT where they did a search for the next Coyote Ugly dancer. What a train wreck that was. I also watch 'The Surreal Life' for the same reasons. Another guilty viewing pleasure I have are those slasher films from the 80's. Friday the 13th, etc. Every time I come across one while channel-surfing, I've just gotta watch it.

I always say I hate cops, but I think it can be very funny and interesting to see the people get caught. lol
I like Cops as well, and any other similar show. Although I can't watch them regularly, once in a while it's entertaining. You're right, they do have a lot of humorous situations on Cops.

I'm probably the wrong person to ask, as my idea of a "guilty pleasure" is probably a bit skewed. The things that I enjoy that could be looked at as odd/embarassing are the ones that I proudly display for the world to see, but I'm horribly ashamed of my moments of purity, innocence and/or normalcy.

Oh, and "America's Next Top Model."

Contradictory statements.
Not really.

Perhaps if I'd used "America's Next Top Model" as an example of one of those pure/innocent/normal moments, but I didn't. ANTM is on my list of guilty pleasures along with such moments.
