What's going to happen if the Kings continue to lose? Well, first of all, the earth will stop rotating. Then the sun will die and we will all be in darkness around the clock. Then we will be struck by a plague of frogs, locusts, and garden gnomes. Finally everything and everyone will vaporize.

and yet, I will still be a Kings fan! ;)

I can handle everything except for the garden gnomes. That's truly terrifying...

I think that if the Kings keep losing fans will start throwing beer on Bonzi and then he will run into the stands and the second worse brall in sports history will ensue and the reputation of Arco will forever be tarnished. Then, next season, at a home game vs. Detroit, images of cows and farmers attacking each other will be shown on the Jumbotron in an apparent show of the violence of Sacramento and no one will appologize.

Look at it this way:

Spurs repeat. We'll finish somewhere between 10th and 20th among the losers.

Yes, I'd rather be 2nd and say we at least had a chance. But it's somehow comforting to detract from the top 5 losers when you know you won't finish that high.

to me, its not very comforting when your team has, on paper, one of the best starting fives in the league. these guys need to pull their heads outta their asses, and soon. its not necessarily a matter of "gelling" (who the f thought up the term 'gel' anyways? its a dumbass term), its a matter of effort. i watched the kings blow a chance at winning in the fourth and ON THE ROAD against denver. all they had to do was play halfway decent, and they would have had a shot at the game. it was like they gave up. i hate seeing that ****. at least give an effort. the kings bench has been incredibly dissapointing as well. our "flexible pieces" aren't bringing it at all. adelman's not playing them because they don't deserve to be played. thomas and williamson have looked pathetic, and skinner has looked lost for the most part thru 5 games. bench players on a team that lends heavy minutes to it's starters do not have the luxury of "getting into a groove." they're on the court for a very limited time, and they need to produce something.

jason hart has been largely dissapointing thus far, and i expect that to change, but he needs to prove he belongs on the court. martin and garcia are young, developing players, so i expect them to struggle, but i also expect some hustle from two young guys who, like jason hart, are trying to prove that they belong on the court and in the nba. if garcia is so far ahead of martin in his game, as many on this board have claimed, then i wanna see it. if martin has worked on his game and improved considerably in the offseason, then i wanna see it. i'm a realist, and i understand that it honestly is gonna take a while for this kings team to 'gel' the way we want them to, but, in the mean time, i don't think a little effort and hustle is too much to ask of guys making a helluva lot more money than any of us can even fathom.

Lots of finger pointing.......... Then trades, followed by a dismal season followed by a new coach.. say hello to 1988
Good Lord people!! This is osmosis! Rome wasnt built in a day, and neither was the Kings team that we just moved on from...if you can remember. Anyone who even THINKS this is the same as 1988 obviously either wasnt alive then, or wasnt a fan then. NOT THE SAME! That team had absolutely nothing of the talent that this team that we have now has. Jim Peterson, Joe Kliene and Ben Gillery had nothing on Reef, Peja and Brad. So before you go and drink yourself into a drunken stuper after every loss from now until we start meshing as a team, I have nothing to say to you except that we have no problem welcoming you back on the bandwagon after the fact. Thank you.

I have a question....This time last year were people freaking out like this ???
Yes... You can look back at some of the threads if you want, they should still be around. A lot of people venting about the horrible start, a lot of people reminding everybody to give it time. I think this time around there are more people truly concerned, but if I remember correctly the outcry was maybe even a little louder last year.

Edit - I did a quick search and a couple of the thread titles I saw were: "How long would you wait," "Totally embarrasing!! Who's first to go if things don't look up?," "How many? How long?", "The ONLY Trade Peja for Artest thread," and "Can we just fire Adelman now instead of waiting until the end of the season???". :)
