What private byusiness has the obligation to the customer? Does Macy's send out press bulletins when they want to build a new store? I think the fans sense of entitlement here is a bit much. These negotiations with whomever they have negotiated (do you honestly believe they have never talked to KJ?) have been none of our business except as we think it is. We have no right to the conversations between Samueli and the Maloofs except have come away with a remarkable amount of knowledge. We also think they have never talked to Burkle. Want to bet on that?

You see where I am going. They are not our government and transparancy, although it would help or hurt our degree of anxiety, is not owed. In the end, as we are ignorant of the details, they can come out with a fine speech and I think most will be mollified.

I don't think they are back room deal making villlains. I think they are desparate to stay afloat and have an image they would like to maintain. Don't we all want a team to pull of a last second win and hear the shrieking Maloof whistle and a dance at center court from these owners. I do.

The way they get there is their business.

We are talking franchises, not corporations. They are bound be specific rules.. You buy a subwayfranchise and they tell you where it's OK to build.. Not ok with you? Then don't buy a franchise.. The Maloofs are not above the NBA.

It's that they appear to be being dishonest or deceptive to everyone they are dealing with who has a horse in the race, except Samueli.

I cannot disagree with this comment. Furthermore, I am viewing Samueli as the devil, and the Maloofs have sold their soul

I think they will file for relocation, it will get rejected and then they will sell the team!

They are emotional guys and when rules by emotion they are irrational. So I think they will file despite NBA advising them to stay, and their relocation request will be rejected by BOG. They will know that they can't go back to Sacramento and will be forced to sell.

They will use the relocation decision as a ploy to sell probably its like... the NBA does not want us to relocate.. fine I'm selling! it would be a disaster in the leagues part if they let them move, after saying sacramento is a viable market.... now they are seeing that it's not sacramento that is not working but the owners.

The stubborn pride of the maloof, they will file still... wait for the 120 days. Strange How I haven't heard from KJ for two days.. whats the guy up to??

Filing would of course just be another nail in their Sacramento coffin, but nothing they have done in the past two weeks has shown any awareness of, or care for, the damage they are doing to their busines in Sacramento. Whether filing out of desperation or out of tonedeafness, it would be right in line with a series of public relations disasters that would have to be termed idiotic if they hold out any hope of returning.

Don't think this is about the Kings at all really, much as a new arena is needed. Think George is desperate in Vegas, think mom might lose her mansion, think their desperation on other fronts has completely overridden whatever limitied business sense they had about the Kings themselves.

This is all true. However, the other side is that filing and moving to OC is going to be a huge public relations disaster within the NBA. The BOG is saying "stay." The NBA analysts say "stay"and will use their TV time to rip the Maloofs a new one every time they have a chance. Moving to OC will cause a s*** storm not seen in the league in quite some time. Image is very important o the Maloofs and if they leave against the greater will of the NBA that image will be destroyed and will never likely be rebuilt. "Congratulations boys, you managed to keep your team and stay in a league where no one respects you any longer." I think the fans of Sactown will have shorter memories than the powers that be in the NBA.

The "I like the Maloofs" side of me

Why is there such a side... what's to like? They've been sandbagging financially in Sacramento for a while now. They have squandered daddy's empire and Sacramento is a casualty that they couldn't care less about. They fired one of the best NBA coaches of all time because he was not a brown-noser. They unceremoniously chucked Webber, Vlade and Christie into the garbage when they got a whim to make a move (they did it to others too... but those were three guys they should have taken much better care of imo).

I hate those SOBs. Are you giving them credit for signing Adelman, CWebb and Vlade which gave us our run among the elite? I don't think the Maloofs had anything to do with that. But what they DID do was double the price of my season tickets.

Any new ownership would be a dream come true.

Then the question is... why the eff won't they sell to burkle? if they need the cash... I would love the league to tear them up... they would be pariahs in the league if they go this route.
