with all of the artest rumors and name changes i got to thinking....

what kind of team do you want? i personally wanted a up-tempo team, thats why i was so big on trading for tj ford. do you want a defense oriented team that struggles to score 85 points? or maybe a run and gun team that occasionally plays defense but can drop 110 on any team at any given time? what players fit that particular mold for you? i seriously doubt that anyone here wants to keep thomas, reef, or moore.... but would you be willing to package one of them to acquire a player that fits your style but is seriously overpaid? because most players are seriously overpaid.

for example, would you take on a contract like rashard lewis just to have a pretty good but not great player that fits into your fast paced fantasy offense? i wouldnt but with all of the possible odom trade ideas i doubt that the team would be any better or worse with him than anyone else. lebron will not be coming to the kings in 2010... neither will carmelo, wade or any other superstar.

i would love to have josh smith on the team but he would end up costing way more than his actual worth as a player.... he isnt a max player but would end up with max money like rashard lewis.

its late, so i wont be able to post my realistic, possible, feasible dream lineup.... i'll do that later. but lets be real people.... who would actually come to the kings in 2010 when we have the money to overpay for a pretty good but not great player? when we could trade for a pretty good probably a bust player like bargnani now....

Chemistry teams which pass/shoot the ball well. You get a so-so team with chemistry and put it against all-stars which don't and the team that plays well together wins most of the time. Ask our Olympians. :D

I want a team that plays decent defense, but that defense is not strictly the focal point of the team. I want a team that excells in passing the ball and moving without the ball. With the proper balance of outside shooting and inside scoring.

I do not want a team made up of one on one players that dribble the ball too much and forget to look at the shot clock. I think having some players that are capable of going one on one is a necessity, because there are going to be times when you have to isolate, and break down defenses. But I want it to be the exception not the norm.

I'm not so much into big name stars, but, if you can find players that are capable of doing all the things I suggested, odds are that a big name star is going to be amongst them.

As for as 2010 goes. I can't say were going to sign Wade, or LeBron etc. But by the same token you can't say we won't. If you offer enough money, you can sign anyone, and don't give me this small town Sacramento crap. Have you ever been to Cleveland? I have, and trust me, its a no contest on where I would want to live.

If, and its a big If, by 2010 the Kings start to look like a viable team and can offer enough money, I don't think they'll have any trouble attracting a big name free agent. Ron Artest aside, the Kings have a pretty good reputation around the league for treating their players well.

A good one, in black road jerseys.

so you want a time machine? well if you can find a delorean dmc-12, i'll go get my flux capacitor out of my garage and we can go back to 2001-02 and kidnap those sacramento kings....

I want a team with athletic bigmen that defense and pass the ball moderately well, wings that runs the floor and shoot, and a pass-first PG.

So generally I like a team that's athletic. I think that's the foundation of all things, offense, defense.... Can't gun if you can't run.

As much as I love offense, I think you'd have to stop yourself from bleeding before you go run and gun. I mean what good is it to drop 110 if you still lose the game?
