What excites you most about the upcoming season?

kingsfans.com was as bubbly as could be through the first few weeks of the regular season last year. after nearly a decade of futility, the mere possibility that the kings might be able to leverage their 9-6 start into a finish above .500 was intoxicating. there were varying degrees of cautious optimism around these parts at that time, and before the team was not-so-subtly sabotaged from within by competing personal agendas, it was so f***ing nice to talk about winning basketball for a change, rather than heaps of drama and heated disputes about the direction of the franchise. after the awful taste leftover in my mouth from last season's perpetually escalating series of debacles, i'm most excited about the kings hitting the "reset" button, so to speak, that we might all feel truly #sacramentoproud again, and that we might have a winning team to root for (while no doubt still maintaining the underdog status that kings fans are so fond of

If the Kings make the playoffs, Cousins should be, at minimum, a top 3 MVP candidate. After 10 years of losing and not even coming close to sniffing the playoffs, such a turnaround would certainly garner heavy heavy MVP consideration, and who knows, if his stats are good enough, he might get it. If he averages 24-13-3 again this season while we win 48-50 games (or more!), I really don't know who can possibly deserve it more.

It's not a guarantee that Golden State will be the number one seed again. Did you forget that OKC is going to be healthy and the Spurs are still there?

I'll take a clips rivalry my god do I hate that team. 99.9% of basketball hate that team we would match up with them too for the next 3-5 years.

Why not? They improved over the off-season. They shored up their bench nicely and picked up Paul Pierce, which will help them in the area they need most, swagger and killer instinct. Not that I like them (hate them actually) but looking at it objectively they have the talent to be #1. More so than OKC, with an unproven coach and a weak bench.

OKC still has 2 top 10 players on their roster, unproven coach and all...I'll still put my money on them, even with the depth LA provides.

That's pretty close to mine, although I'd swap the clippers and thunder, and Denver (they still have some good players!) and Portland (they lost most of their good players!). Top 5 or so in west all close for me.

Yes Houston is getting slept on they were the 3rd seed with Terrence Jones only playing in 33games, Howard only playing 41games, and Beverly only playing 55games. That's 3 starters who missed more games than played than add in lawson they could be the number 1 seed
You know that's pretty much where I am predicting things though obviously we never know who will get hit hard by injuries. For instance if James Harden went down for a length of time I'm not sure Houston is a playoff team without him. But outside of that I think you've got it though I think there's a good chance Utah gets the 7th or 8th seed and New Orleans misses the playoffs. They made it this season and they now have a much better head coach and another year of growth from Davis but I think the Jazz's defensive improvement to finish the season was legit and will carry through this year even without Exum.
I'll be very curious to see how Minnesota develops and what happens with Portland. I think Vonleh will surprise this year but overall the Blazers just have too much change and not enough depth or star talent. Lillard having to take even more shots and be a bigger part of the scoring isn't a recipe for success. CJ McCollum may finally have a bit of a breakout though. And I like the Harkless signing.
The Lakers may set a record for lowest shooting percentage by a team.
Lou Williams shot 40% last year
Kobe and Nick Young both shot 37%
Hibbert shot just under 45% which is pretty bad for a center who took 55% of his shots in the paint and almost 40% of them right at the basket.
Randle and Russell shot 39% and 38% respectively in the summer league.
I'm certainly hoping they are a train wreck this year.

As others have said, I want us to start winning games so that the doubters stop talking about what a laughingstock our team is. Having said that, don't expect most people in the media to "take back what they said." That's not going to happen. They'll just act like they never said it, and talk about whatever's new.

Pretty solid. Think PHX will be in there too. But 6 spots are virtually locked up already, but with Dallas and Portland getting way worse, that opened up a hole for us.
IMO, Vivek deserves some credits too if the Kings starts winning, lest we want to be seen as haters of a certain person. The hiring of Vlade wouldn't be possible if not allowed by Vivek afterall. Let us give him a little bit of credit if we start winning.

His first two years have been plagued by horrendous rookie mistakes that everyone here howled about as soon as they were made. Some were laughably bad. He has not yet "brought a winning atmosphere to a team so desperately in need for change". Not yet. When the team starts winning, of course he should get some credit. He'll get credit for hiring Vlade and getting the **** out of the way.
I don't hate him at all. He just hasn't done a good job so far and appears to just now be learning how to be an owner. He gets credit for that right now.

If the Kings start winning and there's an absence of off-court drama, the credit I'll give Vivek is MAYBE he's learned from his mistakes. Beyond that, only time will tell.
